This reservoir of approximately 1,000 acres is located about
five miles east of Prineville and just south of Highway 26. Ochoco has had largemouth
bass in it in the past. However, it has been rehabilitated several times and may now
only contain trout, although the bass fishery has rebuiltitself somewhat after previous
treatments. The main warmw ater fishery now is for crappie, which seem to get much
larger than those in Prineville Reservoir. A few brown bullheads have also been
reported. Usually stocked very heavily with rainbow trout. P Heley
