This 3,000 acre reservoir is
located about 12 miles southeast of the city of Prineville. The reservoir and the stream below it (Crooked River) are almost always turbid, but there is usually good fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass and fair fishing for brown bullheads. A black crappie population has mysteriously popped up in the last few years with most of the fish measuring less than eight inches in length. Prineville formerly held the state record for
smallmouth bass with a six pound six ounce lunker and
largemouth bass weighing between seven and nine pounds are landed every year. Lots of rainbow trout along with a few lahontan cutthroats are taken each year. P Heley
