This reservoir of 880 acres (when full) is located about five miles southeast of Ashland. The Green Springs Highway loosely follows the west and south sides of the reservoir. Emigrant receives stocks of rainbow trout (and more recently landlocked chinook salmon) and has good populations of largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegills, black crappies and brown bullheads. Although supposedly not present in the reservoir, a near state record channel catfish was caught from the reservoir in 1995. The best fishing is usually for smallmouth bass. Occasionally gets drawn down drastically including in 2002.
