Not only is Black Pine Lake a beautiful place, 10.6 miles Northwest of Twisp, Washington, but the fishing was good even off the two piers. We found fresh popcorn shrimp worked well, although the feeding cycle left short windows of biting activity mainly in the morning 9 to 11 a.m. then around 2 p.m. and again at dusk. Only catch was Brookies with great color in the 8 to 11 inch range. The road is paved the first 4 miles, then smooth but dusty the remaining trip. Take water the well needs repair. Three tent sites, and around 16 camping sites. Camp Host at times but there is a $5.00 drop box for your camping permit. Enjoy! Steve
Editor's Note: Black Pine holds planted eastern brook and is 18 acres.
