This shallow lake located just north of Upper Klamath Lake covers nearly 8,000 acres yet only
averages about five feet deep. It is famous for producing outsized rainbows along with a few browns, but also has populations of yellow perch and brown bullheads that reach very good size. There are also a very few largemouth bass in the lake. In the summer, these spiny rays will be located fairly close to springs as the PH levels in the rest of the lake will often be higher than they can tolerate. Boats are a big advantage when fishing this marshy lake, but watch out for strong winds.
