Located in the Empire District of Coos Bay, these two relatively shallow lakes (Middle and Lower lakes) total 50 acres and offer fair fishing for largemouth bass, bluegills and yellow perch. Brown bullheads and black crappies have also been reported and the lakes are very heavily stocked with rainbow trout (including steelhead and broodstockers). A good trail system surrounds the lakes which receive very heavy fishing pressure, almost all of which is directed at the rainbow trout plants. However, a couple of the bridges over lengthy arms have deteriorated to the point of being unusable making the walk around the lakes somewhat longer than in past years. The heavy trout plants supresses the panfish and small bass populations, but ensures that the largest bass have an easy fat-rich diet.
