Fishing is starting to heat up in the Inland Northwest, with monster Kokanee being caught on Roosevelt, Bass tournaments around the area, and Springers showing up in the Columbia system anglers have lots of options. With all the lakes in the area open by the end of the month, the Fishing Hole Tackle Shop has planned a Super Fishing Event for April 16th at their Spokane Valley, Argonne Ace Hardware locations to help area anglers get fired up and outfitted for this year’s fishing season.
The event will feature sales, giveaways and several professional guides, manufacture reps, and industry resources answering questions starting at 10 am on Saturday. The event will have an open house format giving attendees the chance to meet and greet experts in area fishing tackle, technique, and most importantly catching fish! Representatives from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Spokane Water Sheriff will be there all day.
“We’re committed to fishing and love being part of the area fishing culture. It’s our goal to be a go to source for great gear, great prices, and good information,” said General Manager Jon Evans.
A full boat of Fishing Hole Prostaffers will provide advice and tips throughout the day.
Kyle Jones of Jones Sportfishing will be talking about spring salmon and steelhead, Shelby Ross of Ross Outdoor Adventures will be talking Walleye, Dave Grove of Captain Dave’s Guide Service will focus on trout fishing area lakes, and Scott Imholt of YJ Guide Service will field questions about bass, muskie, and catfish.
“People love fishing and we have a lot of options around here,” Fishing Hole lead Kasey Kimble said. “I bass fish a lot.” Since last fall the fishing hole has supported many local bass clubs. Spokane Valley Marine will also be on site with two Ranger boats to check out. Joining them will be four time Washington State Junior Champ and 2012 Bass Junior World Champ, Nik Autry.
“Starting last year we began recruiting the advice of the best in their fields. Guys like Jerrod Gibbons and Kyle, and Shelby,” Evans said. Following the recommendations of the pro’s, the Fishing Hole has worked hard to have the best selection of fishing gear and tackle for the Inland Northwest – whatever species you want to target. They have brought in new lines of top quality reels and rods, hot tackle for many species, and a wide selection of accessories.
“We have everything you need to catch fish. We’ve got our finger on the pulse of what’s new and what’s working and we want it in stock so our customers never go without,” Evans said. “For this event we’ve got sale prices in every department, rods, tackle, bass, trout, and salmon. Everything.”
