Re: What didn't happen at Lake Tapps yesterday?
I guess I should have cut my vacation short and flew back from Missouri! My guess is the fish will get planted whether we are there or not. On a lighter note, I hear they planted some coffee cans for you!

Re: What didn't happen at Lake Tapps yesterday?
The clubs make generous donations to the Musky program to help raise the fish by helping to pay for the food etc. Personally I never knew when they were releasing the fish.

RE:First Lake?
I know I'd throw larger lures more often if my shoulder would handle it! I can do it for about a half hour then I'm back to the smaller stuff. I've seen a number of 50+ fish in the last couple years...........a giant in Mayfield, a couple that followed me up last year in Merwin and a piggy in Tapps ...

RE:Got my new swimbait rod now I got a question.
I run a number of swimbait rods and run mono on all of them, probably 20-25 lbs. test on the rod you have. Maxima Ultragreen is the line I use, it's strong and blends well with the water color in the northwest. I'm not a huge fan of braid but it does work well in weedy areas as it will cut through t...

Buddy, I know I'm going to miss you! You jumped in head first to take over the president's position and did an excellent job handling that as well as the tournament duties. You were never shy about your love for pike and converted a number of members to the fun of chasing pike. I know I gave you a lo...

Today was a little slower, finally got a nice 33" to come out of a deep weedbed and after a half dozen times around in the 8 she ate the bucktail. No wind today and that probably hurt the bite. Mike.

RE:tigers in tapps
Lots of follows, lots of fish hitting in the 8. Hooked 4 this morning, put a 24" and a 37" in the boat and lost 2 fish in the low 30's and had 4 other follows. Stable weather and water temp's in the low 70's have got them going.

RE:tigers in tapps
The last couple of weeks have probably been the hottest fishing on Tapps that I've ever seen, lots of Muskies though most of them are smaller (20-28 inches). Last week I put a 40" in the boat and lost 4 fish between 38' and 44". Probably caught around 10 smaller fish. You can expect to have about 4 ...

Personal best last Thursday!
I got my personal best last thursday, a 49" toad that ate a jig and trailer combo on Lake Tapps. I was cruising the shallows throwing out into deeper water when i spotted the fish laying in the shallows in a rocky area. I was able to get close and pitch a jig in close. As soon as the jig was near he...
