Re: Road Trip
I ended up fishing the Yakima on the way over. It was a beautiful hike down to the water, and a hot one on the way back. I was thinking apple country, and I got a lot of cactus and sage. I also ended up with ticks, and having to scour myself and gear after my adventure. Was a little late for the bit...

Re: Time warp
I see, of course that fixed it.
That's nuts that you have to manually switch to daylight. Does this mean everyone has to manually switch back and forth each time it changes?

I also got notified by email that you posted your response at 11:15am, but your post on the site reads as 10:15 am. Does it show up that way for everyone else?

Re: Time warp
It is set to Pacific Standard Time. I'm in Seattle. When I go to choose in the user panel, the time is off by an hour.

Time warp
I'm not sure if it matters, the time that the forum reports and the posts I generate are an hour off from the real time. Maybe there's a daylight savings time glitch in the forum?

Road Trip
I'm heading out Wednesday for a little road trip. Wednesday, I need to get from here to Walla Walla. Thursday, I'm driving from Walla Walla to Boise, Idaho and ultimately Twin Springs Idaho. I'll be making the same trip in reverse on Sunday and Monday. I might switch my plans to come back through Po...

Seattle to Camas - Bank fishing opportunities?
I'm driving down from Seattle to Camas, Washington (next to Vancouver). I can hit a place on the way down, a place on the way up, and maybe a jaunt east from Camas while I'm there. I can't really justify bringing my boat (car vs. truck/gas cost), so it will have to be bank fishing. Any suggestions? ...

Re: Chum Quality
Thanks Nate, I've kind of developed my own system of dealing with questionable salmon. Good salmon = the grill. Mid-range = Creative cooking/Smoking. Sketchy = Fish tacos. I've got a really nice Adobo marinade, and if you treat crappy salmon as cheap whitefish it sort of works. Small strips of flesh...

Chum Quality
I had never caught a chum before and I've got some questions about what is a decent fish. I know some people don't think they're worth the trouble, but I've learned that a decent grade Pink can be smoked or cooked more like a whitefish and the results can be good for me (your mileage will vary). If ...

Re: Smoked Salmon
Just wanted to chime in and say that I tried experimenting with adding some real Maple Syrup to a brine. YUMMY. I'm still juggling proportions of salt, sugar, garlic, and pepper with apple and hickory smoke (I like it bacony) but the addition of some real Maple Syrup put my last batch into the scrum...
