I've tried it a couple times and never had any luck. But hell, thats just me. You might nail em dead out there with flies. My personal experience has taught me that this is a gear fishery though.

forgot to mention that dollies are illegal to target...but the if your fishing for steelies and you happen to run across a dolly here and there, then good for you. Just remember to keep it the fish in the water and release it unharmed.

I believe circle hooks minimize the hooks being set deep in the fish...I'm pretty sure they also hook fish in the corner of the mouth? Could be wrong.... True Sam, I love circle hooks for halis.
