Re: What is considered a "big" or "trophy" crappie?

I think the bigger crappie will be the river crappie . Personally, I believe the snake river holds some records. The upper Snake above Wawawai where there are coves and backwater that are accessible by boat are really good to fish in the spring.

Re: Suggestions for 10 yr old beginners dying to catch a fis

Go to the Fish and Wildlife website and find out where they are planting or recently planted trout. That is an easy way to get the juices flowing for the young ones!

Re: I-82 ponds?

I caught my first crappie on feb 20 last year on these ponds. They should start heating up. I know people are catching the big brooders right now and are doing very well. I use a slip bobber because the vegetation is a lot thicker this year so it is easier to work it with a slip bobber. With the wea...

Re: Palouse river catfish

Curious to know how the catfishing went up on the Palouse . I heard that the mouth of the Yakima river was hot this year for channel cats. Might be worth checking out next time if you wanted to get in some bottom fishing.

Re: I Phone picture issues?

Good question! I don't know what kind of file it is from an I phone. I can try to crop it. It uploaded one picture that I posted but it wouldn't do the others.

Yeah, pond 4 is pretty good right now right before dark. I was out there for a little, but the cold wind drove me off!

Re: Anyone try crappie yet in Eastern WA this year?

Been hammerin' them! Caught thirteen all 11"-13" on Presidents Day. That was the first batch of the year for me. I tried to post pics from my I phone, but it wouldn't accept them. I will transfer them to my laptop and then try again. Have been catching them consistently since.

Hitting the sloughs today. Talked to an old timer yesterday at the sportsman warehouse and he said they were catching some huge slabs in the sloughs. Green and white minis were the trick. He wass heading out there today. Heard this from another guy at the I-82 ponds as well. Time to go check it out....

That time in life...

Well... My son, my pride and joy, turns 16 in a few weeks and will be getting his driver's license. I am looking for a car for him. He loves cars from the 60's and 70's and I have been keeping my eyes on craigslist but if any of you members know someone that has an older car, I would love to hear ab...
