Easton ponds are great, and it's connected to the Yakima river so sometimes you can catch really nice fish out of there.
No rattlers, maybe some garter snakes. The pond also has a really weird looking amphibian like a fat headed really big salamander. Pretty cool.

Re: powerbait vs. lures or flies
For me there's no feeling like a fish slamming a spinner or spoon, it's very addictive to me. I have a hard time going from river/stream fishing to Lake fishing, I always feel bored (unless I'm on a boat for some reason)

We always pan fried them with corn oil with a little bit of sesame oil. Taste like heaven! The females are the best with the creamy eggs that pop like little salty capsules of yum. Oh man, now I gotta go jig up some smelt! When is La Conners smelt derby? Did that already happen?

Re: My Stance on Native Steelhead, what I'm going to do abou
That's cool that you're not doing trips there, but like you said, the real problem is the ritualistic reaping of the native fish by tribes. (my phone changed what I wrote to reaping, but I'll leave it) And unfortunately our state is gutless in its stance against native harvesting, and apparently the...

Yes like smelting in the sound, they spawn in freshwater.
I love them, taste so good pan fried, especially full of eggs.

There's a parking lot on the side of the highway, and there's also parking at the hatchery which is on the other side of the river.

Re: Alaskan Fishing Trip Summer 2014
Haha, yeah, you're wrong about our fish being just as good as Alaskan fish. Whole other category. My grandfather went on his dream trip there the year before his cancer finally killed him, he came back with a 76 lb and 88 lb king, and let hundreds of others go over a one week all-inclusive charter/L...

This is in the saltwater forum so I'll suggest pile perch at the different piers, or head out to the coast for surf perch

No, I don't fish Redondo but I see all sorts of goofy Crap that doesn't work, lol. I made my light for 50 bucks total and it's as bright as a 500 watt halogen but runs for 10 hours on a deep cycle battery.

Submersible lights?
Anything works, but halogen flood style works best. I find light that moves kinda freaks them out. Like a flashlight on a string, that'll scare them off, which is fine as long as you aren't fishing next to me ;)

Re: squiddin 2013
That's strange, I've only gone out a handful of times due to having a newborn at home, but every time I've gone out I've gotten at least a pound, best night was 6 lbs. Are you sticking around long enough? Most people make the mistake of only squidding for an hour or two and then leaving. You really ...

It's all a planned PR stunt. If you think anything on that TV show is real, you're an idiot. Who said anything on the show was real? This is all referring to something that didnt happen on the show at all. PR stunt? Mabye. It is getting a lot of time everywhere you look now. I guess we will see. If...
