Frye Cove Oysters?
Hi everyone! My friends and I are going to the Pacific beaches for razor clams this coming weekend. On the way there, we'd like to do some oystering. I know Penrose, Potlatch, Belfair, and Dosewallips are great places but they are a little out of the way. From looking at the wdfw website, I found Fr...

Ling fishing near Alki
Hi everyone, My buddy and I are renting a 14' aluminum boat at Alki Beach. Unfortunately, it only has a 6hp engine, which means we probably can't venture out too far. Do you guys know of any ling spots near that area that a 6hp engine could take us to? How fast can a 6hp engine go in MPH on a 14' al...

Snake River
Hi everyone, A few friends and I were thinking of making the long trip from Seattle to the Snake River for a weekend of fishing. I was wondering if anyone had experience fishing there and could point me to some favorable places? We're targetting crappie, but anything is fine. We will be shore fishin...

Kayak Fishing
Hey everyone, I know the kayak fishing community is a big one and was wondering if anyone here is part of it? I've been wanting to purchase a kayak because a boat is not realistic for me. The videos I've watched on YouTube are very encouraging and it seems that kayaks offer an array of opportunities...

Don't go without some Lunker Lotion too or some kind of scented formula. Power eggs and Powerbait just don't work as well by themselves anymore. Rub some LL on your eggs and you will limit even faster. I use the Sardine flavored one. When you reel back your line after an unsuccessful soak, do it slo...

RE:Crabbing by Copalis Beach
Update: Clamming was fantastic. Limited out again and they were much bigger than the ones I got last month. Crabbing was not so fantastic. I tried the crab snare on the beach to no avail. I wouldn't recommend it because the waves just toss it around on the bottom. I did have waders on and got out as...

RE:flounder from shore
Last summer, I could not keep the flounder/sole off my line pier fishing. I was using a drop-shot rig with a nightcrawler. I tried shrimp/squid, but the nightcrawlers worked the best. When I used shrimp/squid, I'd only catch ratfish or bullhead. I heard pileworms and clams work great too. Keep your ...

Crabbing by Copalis Beach
Hi all, I'm planning on going clamming the weekend of the 24th in the Copalis Beach area if it opens. I went 3 weeks ago and limited out in an hour. Only this time, I'm gonna bring some crab rings as well. My question is, I doubt throwing rings from the beach is a good idea so I'm looking for some p...

River Reports Usability
Hi, I've noticed that within the River Reports section: When I choose a letter, then choose a river, then press the Back button to go back to the letter I chose, it takes me back to the initial landing page. This isn't true for the Lake Reports section. I think its an issue of usability that I would...

Another option would be Tokul Creek by the hatchery. I was just there two Sundays ago. Between 7am-10am everyone around me had caught or lost a fish and I heard that many were caught before 7am as well. They were all pretty bright too. I only saw one darker fish.

Tolt River Flooding?
Is fishing around the Tolt River closed due to flooding? I'm thinking about going to the creek adjacent to the Tolt hatchery.
Thanks guys!

I lived in New Orleans for 5 years. There were so many of these guys that the city once made it legal to shoot them on sight. I remember nights where SWAT teams and cops would drive down all the canals and do drive-bys. It was pretty entertaining though the shots were pretty scary. I thought there w...

RE:Anybody tow with a Subaru Outback?
fishin'dude, I am glad that to hear you're getting an Outback, and going down the same path. You are not going to have any problem, and especially with the 12'. The most importan thing I think will be to make sure that you get your brakes checked when you get the car, so that you know how much pads...

Hey Quad, so hows the Outback + Lund setup going? I own a 2002 Outback Wagon 2.5 Liter and I'm looking into purchasing a 12' alum with trailer. Just wanted to see if you're having any problems with that setup. Thanks!

RE:I'm Voting Democrat
A presidential candidate's first important decision is picking a running mate. This decision is practically the only thing we as voters can judge a candidate's character and decision-making skill before the election. Everything else is all talk and promises that may or may not be done. When a candid...

At my school, we have been holding debates over issues like energy, foreign policy, the war, and the economy. No one got to pick sides, and many Obama supporters landed on the McCain side of the debate. Still, the McCain side won each debate topic. Makes you think. The war was the most volatile sub...
