Re: Rookie Help: "When to switch baits..."

I hope this helps, but now you can see why it is so difficult to answer your question. THANK YOU!!! The more I hear about the "searching", the more I will be comfortable going away from a confidence bait... 2013, for me, was spent too much staying with the 1-2 baits... like 4-6 hours of 1-2 baits. ...

Re: Rookie Help: "When to switch baits..."

Thanks for the replies guys... I know there's no easy answer. And I get that there is a lot of variables, but just thought I'd try to throw out a very detailed question. Maybe there's no "right answer". I was just wondering if most of you guys fish 1-2 baits a day, or 10-12 baits a day. I'll think o...

Rookie Help: "When to switch baits..."

So, obviously I'm a newbie to bass fishing... I'm gonna throw some questions out of left field. Please fire away - and thanks in advance for the feedback! 2013 was a interesting year for me... my first "real" bass trip was in March; and I ended up going 0-4 in March. Spent the whole year basically j...

Re: to join a bass club or not????

I'm in the same boat... (no pun intended). Join a club, or not? I'm new to the sport, want to learn, and think the clubs would get me going. But, I don't want to waste a club's time if I cannot commit to the tournament schedule... is this a problem? And, not sure what the format is for the club meet...

Re: LETS TALK BASS !!

Gear question - drop shot spinning reel: In the spring, I treated myself to a G.Loomis GL2 821S drop shot rod and I want to your suggestions regarding a "good" spinning reel to match the rod (been using an old spare Daiwa Crossfire 2000 reel). Enjoyed catching those smallies at Lake Tapps this year...

Re: LETS TALK BASS !!

...regarding winter fishing, it sounds like I should just target smallmouth ONLY. As a newbie to bass fishing, would I be better off just "practicing" all winter on all bass techniques or actually fishing for smallies? I'm sure there is a lot of technique for smallmouth that can be transferred, but ...

I would like to hear some feed back on BPS 100mph , Simms , Cabela's , ETC (likes/ dislikes ) :-k I've used the Cabelas stuff for a long time - it holds up good. Re: Demo on Frog Fishing video

on the colors for frogs... I've always thought that it's bright colors on sunny days and dark colors on cloudy days... I can get that far... but we have, for example, Black, Red, Green, Yellow, White. Are there colors that I should stay away from? Of course stick to the natural looking frogs (I thi...

Re: Demo on Frog Fishing video

Excellent info! Thanks for sharing! I'm a bass newbie - and this is very helpful. Can you share the brand of frogs that you're using?.. and perhaps your top 3-4 colors? The only thing I'm missing is what color frog to use for the conditions... thanks! Can't wait to start using this and I'll let you ...

GREAT!.. I'm a rookie and have been striking out at Kapowsin; planning my first trip to Ohop this weekend! It will be good to have another "normal" year round lake in the area.

I saw two smallies pulled out of Park Lake last week!.. I never thought there bass in there! Maybe that's why the trout derby was slow?

Tapps is a great smallmouth fishery but like Arnie said...really tough fishing right now. Anyways, welcome to the site and I was in your shoes less than a year ago and now all I want to do is fish and fish some more! Yeah I've been looking at the topo for that lake... It's definitely on the list fo...

Nice to meet you all! Thanks for the willingness to help me learn the sport. At this point, I've got a plan for the next few trips - if I fail miserably perhaps I'll take you guys up on the offer! I can't make the seminar, already have something planned ](*,) but next time for sure!!! And arniejl, i...

New Member - Bass Newbie

Hey Guys, Just introducing myself - hello, my name is Ben. The past couple weeks I've been tuning in to the site and figured I'd better contribute - rather than assume the role of "lurker". Anyhow, I'm a complete bass-newbie... I've caught some bass before, but never the "right" way. I've always wan...
