Re: Rod and Reel
I've got a nice Fetha Styx 9'6 8-12 Chrome rod and Penn Battle reel for sale that would work great for you... ;) It's also under $200 for the combo I haven't seen any reviews on the Fetha Styx Chrome, but they seem to be a highly regarded manufacturer by many fisherman...same with the Penn Battle. ...

Under 200.00 is exactly what I consider reasonableBentRod wrote:What do you consider a reasonable price?
For under $200 you can pair a Pflueger President or Shimano Sahara to a Berkley IM8 or Okuma SST. There are other good pairings as well, but these are the more popular economical choices.

Re: Winter steelhead 2014
From what I understand The Cowlitz is a big river more suited for sleds than drift boats. I have a drift boat is there any good productive stretches down there that aren't hit to hard by the big boats?

Re: Humptulips drift
I finally got a break so I went and looked at it the other day. It looked like I would be walking the boat a lot of the way . That river is low! Talked to a couple of guys bank fishing. low clear flows is making it really tough. Going to hold off.

FKJ, I am a Tugboat Captain and work a 30/15 schedule, I really want to learn to fish any of the Olympic rivers. Have fished the Humptulips several times and would love to learn the Sky, Hoh, Bogachiel, Sol Duc, or any others. When I'm in town I'd be willing to meet you anywhere and share expenses....

That's just what I was thinking. Theres gotta be some nice cuts up there. Mig...
