Re: Lingcod opener
Yeah after I posted this I noticed the dates that said it was effective until July of this year. When I read the dates specific to lingcod I thought it was referring to last May.

Lingcod opener
Anyone know when the lingcod season opens and what the regs are for 2016? I've never been but I got a boat this year and wanted to try catching lingcod but don't know when or where I can fish them in puget sound area 8-2. I can find the 2015 Regs but not sure if there are changes this year.

Re: No salmon fishing in PUget Sound?
According to the last paragraph of this article it could take up to 8 months for the state to get approval which is long after the season is done.

Re: Silver Lake outside of Everett
There are actually two parks on that lake where you can launch from but like the others said, you would need something you can carry down. I've taken my kayak out there many times.

Re: Getting a new boat
Hey dizzy, do you have a fish finder for your boat? If not, I just found an older Garmin 200 I have thats been sitting forgotten in my shed for a few years. Its a very basic fish finder but it does work reasonably well in shallower water. I need to double check but I think I have every thing you ne...

Re: Getting a new boat
I finally did it. Got a used 16ft smokercraft. It'll go where I want and not so heavy that I'll have issues towing it. Now I just have to learn how to fish with a boat instead of from shore.

Re: Getting a new boat
I'm not going to tow a yacht or anything lol. Just looking to see if there were any other Taco owners out there who could share their experiences. I do not plan on exceeding 2k lbs total for boat, trailer, motor, fuel, ect ect. Im also considering the possibility of a trailer with breaks since there...

Re: Getting a new boat
Thanks AaronW. I have been doing some research and read that the Tacoma 4 bangers do great towing. Like you said they just don't go fast. I also found that Klamath boats are pretty light weight too so I could probably get a bit bigger boat by going that route too. Still researching them but so far t...

Re: Getting a new boat
Thanks everyone for the input. My truck won't be paid off for a couple more years so perhaps I'll have to stick with a smaller boat for now. Either that or not get a boat till I get a new truck.

Getting a new boat

I drive a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 4 cyl. The towing capacity is 3500lbs according to Toyota. Does anyone else out there tow with a T...

Re: Edmonds Pier Salmon fishing
So what happens if you catch a fish that is not legal off the pier? Doesn't seem like you can safely toss it back into the water. Anyway I checked it out one day and it seemed pretty crowded. Not sure if it's really a place I would want to fish from. Thanks for the replies.

Edmonds Pier Salmon fishing
I'm new to fishing and do not have access to a boat. I work near Edmonds and see a lot of people in the summer fishing from the pier. Does anyone know when is the best time of year to catch Chinook and Coho Salmon from the pier?
