Re: Older Garmin GPS Softare Update
The most recent software update is from 2008, but it is still available for download on Garmin's website. One of the update descriptions says "•Fixed issue that could lead to satellite acquisition problems on aging units". So hopefully that will fix my problem. Cheers BTW, thanks for the tip about t...

Older Garmin GPS Softare Update
Hi everyone, I have an older Garmin GPSMAP 498 (purchased in 2006) and I would like to update the software. Unfortunately Garmin discontinued the Garmin Data Card and the USB data card programmer (aka, adapter cord). My GPS unit has been having problems acquiring satellite signals, leaving me withou...

Re: Visiting Seattle 10/14 - Where should I fish?!
Unfortunately, very few rivers are open to coho retention at the moment. Nooksack, Samish, and Green river (plus Lake Washington) is about all you get for now. Might change by mid October. Depends on in-season Coho returns. I am not familiar with guides, so I will let someone else chime in on that...

Re: How to package salmon for US border crossing?
Unfortunately crossing the boarder with fish was not an issue. We fished the Sand Heads off the south arm of the Fraser River and caught two nice coho (8 to 10 pounds) and one chinook which was 24 inches long... minimum size up there is 24 and 1/2 inches! Had fun, but I am still itching to bring hom...

Re: How to package salmon for US border crossing?
Thanks Stryker, I will make sure to leave the tail on one side of each fillet. We might need a long cooler fit those Chinook, especially with the tail on. Here's hoping we catch some! I've been fishing in the San Juans with no luck this year hopefully the pros can get a hook-up. Your guide should ha...

How to package salmon for US border crossing?
I will be going to Canada for a chartered fishing trip this weekend and I cannot find much information on how to properly package the salmon to make crossing back into the US as smooth as possible. The fishing regs say it is legal to have Canadian-orgin fish if you have a Canadian license and salmon...

Has WDFW ever clarified exactly where they consider the "Lummi Indian Reservation boundary" to be?
