Re: gas powered boating lakes ???
Not this again. [rolleyes] Below I've pasted a couple of responses from last year concerning this topic. The WA State restrictions state that you can't have a internal combustion engine installed on a boat in certain bodies of water. The King County restrictions state that you can't operate an inter...

RE:regulations on no internal combustion lakes
wow, I've not heard of this second King cnty restriction. That makes no sense if it contradicts the state regulation. No wonder people get confused. Mike - Just to clarify, the state and King county regulations do not contradict each other. I haven't run the King county regulation trapline on all o...

RE:regulations on no internal combustion lakes
FYI - At least in the Seattle area, you will encounter two different groups of lakes that have internal combustion restrictions. The 1st group of lakes fall under the WA state restriction as identified by Rich above. The 2nd group of lakes fall under a King County restriction which differs from the ...

Here is a surf perch article from the boys down in California. The same setup should work up here too.

Sounds like selective harvest to me which the last I heard was a good thing. In fact, on many lakes it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep some of the smaller bass to eat. Regarding health warnings, I expect most fish that reside permanently in Washington or Sammamish are less than pristine. I'm not fami...

I ran across the following video on newenglandfishin.net http://www.newenglandfishing.net/vgallery/skippingjigs.wmv which shows a guy skipping jigs on baitcasting gear up to floating bogs. The video doesn't show his casting motion but about a minute into the video you can start to get an idea of how...

RE:Bass Scale Error
I agree with Travis, I wouldn't put much stock in the accuracy of your weight plates. The next time you go the grocery store, pick up a few items and weigh them in the produce section so that you have more accurate test samples when you get home. For example, one gallon of water weighs ~8-1/3 lbs. G...

RE:Boating Rules and Reg.s Question
FYI - I updated the thread identified by hewesfisher to note that depending on where you live, there may be two sets of regulations you need to be aware of relative to "internal combustion engines" - 1st is the WA State regulations and 2nd is King County ordinances. Other counties may have similar o...

RE:No Gas Motor Allowed Lakes
I apologize if this was previously addressed but wading through the comments made me dizzy. Speaking as a King County resident, you need to know that there are two sets of "no internal combustion rules" that you need to be aware of. The 1st is the state law which is identified in the fishing regulat...

RE:Western WA rivers w/bass?
Other than the Chehalis answer, I don't know if anyone will 'fess up to what they may have found so you will probably have to do some exploring on your own. If I was going to look I would start with the Columbia as the bass "source" and pull out a map to identify the various tributaries and go on a ...

RE:facilitating bass bed habitat.
Are there any WA state regs concerning the addition of "cover" to lakes? I believe some states have guidelines to help ensure that people aren't creating boating or swimming hazards. I know homeowners on many local lakes are very particular about the amount of vegetation in "their" lake so I wouldn'...

Photo Only Sections
Based upon the dustup in the bass forum Trophy Board 2009 about photos, I would like to know if it is possible to create a spot to post photos only (each with a brief text description) such that people can't comment in the same location that the photos are posted. See calfishing.com as an example. [...
