Re: Small Boat Lingcod
Great thanks for the info. If I can't get out for lings, maybe I'll try out some sand dabs.

Small Boat Lingcod
I recently got a smaller boat (16 ft aluminum w/ 60HP motor) and want to get out in the salt for some lingcod and/or rockfish this season. I've only ever fished lingcod off Westport and in "big" water where I wouldn't be able to take my boat. Any suggestions for areas to fish lings or rockfish that ...

Re: Trolling Divers?
Adam B - I am in Seattle, but don't think I need to check it out in person. Thanks for the offer though. I got a pretty good idea of what I am going to do. Probably won't get around to it for a few weeks, but will definitely show you guys some pictures when I do. I appreciate all the tips everyone. ...

Re: Trolling Divers?
natetreat - That's the one, except mines grey. The more I look at this, I am starting to think downriggers off the bench seats will work. I was thinking of mounting one to each seat, on opposite sides. I am a little worried about the pressure from drag tearing the seats out. Mike Carey - Do you thin...

Re: Trolling Divers?
Adam B - I have a Saturn inflatable. Pretty similar to the Achilles I believe. It has a wooden transom that I have an electric motor on. Your set up definitely sounds like something that would work for me. If you could send some pictures that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Trolling Divers?
Gfakkema - I have an inflatable and haven't really seen any good way to mount down riggers without a large elaborate set up. I have a fish finder and would be willing to spend some money if I could find down riggers that would work. They would probably need something that could clamp to the bench se...

Re: Trolling Divers?
Mike Carey - Targeting mostly Kokanee and trout. Most of the trolling I have done has been with down riggers or near the surface. I recently got a boat and am trying to figure out how to troll at different depths without down riggers. So far I've had a hard time gauging the depth my lures are at. Fr...

Trolling Divers?
Down riggers are a little out of the question for me. I have no experience with trolling divers (like the dipsy diver), but am thinking about trying some out. How do you guys feel about divers? Any suggestions on specific types that work well?

Re: Lakes open year round
Trolled a few differet wedding rings am dick nites. Only had about 2 hrs at flowing and it was my first time there in a boat so I spent good amount of time just exploring. I am still trying figuring out how to troll at different depths without down riggers so the lack of success might be all my own ...

Re: Lakes open year round
Strider43 - I never followed solunar calendar too closely. Have you seen pretty good results? The Quadfather - I've always been a little hesitant to fish those lakes (with the exception of Pass) due to the huge sizes. Guess I just need to get out there and do some exploring. spoonman - Never been to...

Re: Lakes open year round
Thanks guys. I usually try to make it to fish lake once a year. Been to flowing lake once, but only fished from the dock. I will have to get back out there on the boat.

Lakes open year round
What are some of your favorite lakes that are open year-round? I live in Seattle, but am more than willing to drive a few hours for a productive lake. I have a (small) boat so shore access isn't an issue. At this point, I mostly fish trout but would like to start fishing other species as well. Any a...
