looking for a kicker

I am looking for a decent kicker motor for my 18.5' Tracker Targa Boat. Needs to be a long shaft at least 8 hp four stroke as I am going to run it off of my main tank. My main motor is a four stroke also and I don't want to carry an external tank on the boat. Price range is under $1000.00 or close t...

Re: Non Ethanol users?

I run EO in my 115 Mercury. If I can't get it i always have a bottle of Stabil or some other product to dump into the tank. Works great and is great for storage also. I run Stabil in all of my gas powered engines. Lawnmowers etc. Never had a problem with the boat and when it come tune up time, my te...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

You rig it the same as any other worm. The finesse worm will float tail up. Other worms will lay down as you jig the lead head.i use a jig head with a screw for the worm. Screw the worm on the head and run the hook into the worm so it Is strait. Much like a Texas rig.

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

See what I mean. Your already learning new things and getting the hang of experimenting. A big part of bass fishing, especially on a new or unfamiliar lake is finding the pattern that works that day. That is why it is so much fun! Use that same finesse worm on a 1/4 oz jig head. There's your shakes ...

Re: New to bass fishing please help?

You guys are getting way to technical for a beginner to understand. Nick, you are just going to have to get out and experiment. My favorite bass bait is a shakes head. It is a lead headed jig hook used with a floating plastic worm. I have caught hundreds of bass on this one rig. Easy to use. When yo...

Re: ST. CROIX Wild River casting rod

Do you still Want to sell? If so I will buy at the right price. How much are you selling it for? Primetime is right though. You don't need Top of the line gear to make it work. That is a really nice rod. Be ashame to waste it. But how much if you really want to sell?

Hey all!. Going to Banks this weekend 6/20/13. Anyone hearing anything going on over there. The weather is supposed to be warm. I hope! Not many new reports for that area. Just wondering.

Re: Advise on fishing Banks lake

I fish Banks quite a bit but usually for Walleye or Bass. Bottom Bouncers work great with about 18" - 24" leadr with a Mustad worm hook and half a crawler run up the hook. have also used plastic worms for the Walleyes and occasionally a small shallow diving plug. For the bass, both largies and small...

Map of Lake Chelan

Is anyone familiar with or know of a detailed map of the lake itself. I really want to learn more about this fishery so I can go over their myself. Guided trips are a little to expensive for my taste and I have my own boat that is fully outfitted but I know nothing about the lake and the various loc...

RE:New to Seattle - Boat Advice Please

Hey Freddy, I was in a similar situation as you are now. My suggestion would be look into a Tracker. That is what I bought. A Targa V185 muti-species. I fish the sound. I fish Washington, Sammamish. Tapps all of the lakes. It is a deep V hull fully equipped with a trolling motor live wells (2) Elect...

RE:how do I cook sturgeon

Try cutting it up into 1" chunks and putting it in boiling lightly salted water until it floats. When it floats it is done. Now dip it in a butter (not margerine) garlic sauce. Has a taste and texture very similar to lobster. Try smoking it also with your favorite brine recipe. I use a simple dry br...

RE:Carp or Northern Pike Minnow disposal - What is actually the best way to do it?

So what does everyone do with all the carcasses from the fish that we keep to eat. Any fish that we catch and keep as food has a carcass left over. I clean my fish at home after the trip. I throw the carcasses away. They go to the landfill and decompose. I don't have a garden to put them in. I don't...

RE:Fishing Heavy Weeds

I have always had good luck with a heavy skirted Jig with a plastic chunk or craw. I like Blue and Black or reds. When I say heavy , I mean heavy. 1oz to 1 1/4 oz. It'll get you down to the fish. Just make sure it is weedless of course. Strike King makes a real good one. As far as line goes, The hea...

RE:Downrigger Question?

I agree with BigD. I run 2 of the same Scotty DR's on my boat and absolutly will not use any other brand. They are easy to install and real easy to operate. I also use the braid and it does make a huge difference in drag and noise reduction.

RE:Memeorial Day Weekend?

I gotta take the horses over to Naches. Which means I can't take the boat anywhere unless I can find a way to stuff it in the horse trailer with my 2 horses. Gotta split the recreational duties with my better half. We get to take the boat (GOOD TIMES) to Banks in June.
