RE:Governor Appoints 3 New F & W Commissioners

Well written and balanced Don. My fears parallel yours with the possible salmon focus. I may not be as willing to give them a fair shot early on, but "hope" I am wrong on that count.

I picked the combo up at a close out price of $45. The rod is very sensitive and yet strong...too strong to enjoy small f...

RE:"Wireless" Trailer/Towing Lights

One of my fishing buddies installed a new brake system on his trailer and he also went with the wireless system. He had me drive from Davenport to Nespelem for our fishing at Rufus Woods. It worked great! One trip and new, so you are right to report back later with some history behind it. My memory...

RE:Drop Shot Rods

This is a great question. The rod is very important in successful drop shot fishing. The fishing rod you have described would work extremely well. Here is an idea at the other end of the price spectrum. One of the parts of fishing providing some extra entertainment is to try different types of equi...

Salmon Chowder

We had some leftover Chinook salmon and a little bit of shrimp fed mackinaw as well. (We always cook a little extra, so we can make the following great recipe with natural gourmet ingredients) :chef: Saute: 3T Butter 3/4 cup onion, chopped 1/2 cup celery, diced 1 clove garlic, minced or powder to t...

RE:Best spinners for trout?

I really enjoy casting Super Rooster Tails to the shore at Rufus Woods. I've been using the Black, Red & Silver colors when I'm not Fly fishing with a wooly bugger or trout pellet fly. There ya go! I had not come across these either. Look to be quite nice. The blade can sometimes be tough to turn w...

RE:Any info for Priest Lake Idaho?

I am sorry for my non-response if the drop shot question was aimed at me. Seems obvious it was. Drop shot, or down shot, is a form of jigging, but the sinker is on the bottom and the weightless minnow/jig is tied up the line with a palomar knot. The weight(s) are connected to the remaining tag line...

My first inclination was also a rainbow. Kam because of the location. Old male steelhead can also look quite similar and they are a sea run rainbow, of course.

RE:fish finder - working right or not?

I am certainly not an expert, but do have experiences. Transducers can and do go bad. The damage or corruption may not be visible from the outside. If it is an old fish finder, you will need to contact the manufacture to see what current transducer is compatible. Many times, the price for a new tran...
