You probably would have better luck with a mooching rig and a sardine or herring injected with bait oils.

Try taking a kayak out and fish the sunken jetty. That is where you will find a bunch of black rocks , some nice lings , and an occasional cabezon. Fish in an area where there is a good water flow through the rocks--- that is where baitfish hang out and so do the predators. It can be outstanding fi...
