Saltwater reels
What are the popular reels for salmon fishing these days? What should I buy for mooching and motor mooching? I used to like to plug cut bait and mooch or slow troll with 3 to 4 oz. leads. Need to get new gear. Thanks DH.

RE:Northwest Fishing TV show
I remember that show. I remember Jim's labored breathing and chuckle always coming through the audio. A show where they fished out of Yes Bay Ak. got me motivated to get to Alaska to fish. Best fishing I ever had that left me with two years of salmon, halibut and yelloweye in the freezer and my son ...

RE:longshaft on a short transom?
Measure your transom and get the shaft length and horse power you need. 15" to 17" needs a short shaft and 18" to 21" needs a long shaft motor. Hope this helps. 15" motor shaft is short and 20" motor shaft is long. DH

Jameson Lake
Can anyone report on water condition now at Jameson Lake? Called Ephrata WDFW over a week ago and they never returned any promised info. Lake is now open but no reports yet here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. DH

Where does the water come from for Sun Lakes?
I have had some good trips to the Sun Lakes chain this year. Does anyone know if, or how Deep, Park, Blue Lake, and Lenore are connected? Does the canal system below Banks Lake somehow feed fresh water to them? I noticed a flow in Blue Lake this fall and the lake level dropped over a weeks time. The...

RE:Livingston question
Big guys and 7.5' Livingston Boats don't go together very well. Kind of tippy. Picked a guy out of the water when his small Livingston flipped in the wind and small chop in a lake. The 9' and bigger are more stable. Maybe get a canoe or kayak for car topping. Good luck. always wear a life jacket. DH

RE:Just bought a Canoe
Nice. Yes a small electric motor would be nice, but paddling a canoe is easy. Please always wear a life jacket. These are safe but can tip. Keep your weight in the center. Step in and on the centerline and sit down. Always have a little water floating it before getting in or you my tip over. A wet f...

RE:Pierce Counties' "Silver Lake" What Now?
Just checked the WDFG site and on the list of lakes planted as of June 14th, it lists a plant of 1500 fish in Pierce Counties Silver Lake . Why are they planting a lake with public fish and no public access? Is there access now? Anyone know?

RE:Lake Cushman
I've fished here and had good luck fishing the kok's using leaded line to get down and normal flasher or pop gear setup. Lures in red and a worm or corn for bait. Fish (troll) the steep bank opposite from the resort. Fish are small but very good to eat. Take your time bringing them in, soft mouths. ...

RE:Stringers
I guess the rule is like clam digging. Everyone has to have a separate clam bag. You can share a shovel but not the container. I have shared a stringer also, used the top clips for me and lower ones for partner. I leave a little separation. Not anymore! Livewell? Any GW's out there to respond? DH

Does anyone ever get the wedding ring replacement hooks with the pink material on the hook shank? On the hotshot and flatfish, do you ever bait there hooks? Thanks for your answers. DH

Deep cycle batteries
What is the best way to go for deep cycle in a 12volt battery to use with a new electric trolling motor? I find that the ones at Costco look good for price, but are there better choices? Please help me and others who need to buy a new battery. Thanks. DH
