Re: What is considered a "big" or "trophy" crappie?
Ones I catch over 15 inches I consider trophy size. I'll catch some that size out of potholes every year when I go there for crappie. Most of the time one or two every trip. I swear I always get those ones in the middle of the day, when the fishing has died down, it's 100 out, and the schools are go...

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
The ice was thick, it was about 12 inches but none of it was good ice. I was surprised it was as bad as it was, we didn't venture off rather than the little bay that we started at. Ended up not catching anything. I'm sure if we were able to try some other spots we could've found them but we weren't ...

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
Saw a couple of fisherfolk out a couple of days ago. Didn't see anything on the ice with them. With the warm wind I would advise caution, but the nights are still cold. I'd fish in the AM if I did try it. And I'm sure you know special regs... yada yada... Oh ok, I ended up not going because my frie...

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
Fishinchristian, any idea if the ice is off Myron? Might try to go there for some ice free fishing if so.

Ouch, I was thinking of going to Lind coulee today too. Maybe I should just stay warm today.

Wondering that on the ice too. Might try tomorrow somewhere if someone has ice reports from Yakima or Moses area. Buddy wants to go again now.

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
Just got done fishing Myron pond, buddy caught a trout in 20 minutes. Moved around to a couple holes and finally found a school of perch and caught 2 in ten minutes. I was still getting bites and the cop pulls over on the highway to tell us to get off the ice... spots we checked and fished had a goo...

Alright thanks, I'll have to see if my buddy will want to try going to Myron for some trout and panfishing.

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
That was our problem, forgot something to scoop the ice out. We just used my buddy's flask he was using to scoop the ice out. Anyone have ice thickness or reports for Myron Pond or any of the I-82 ponds? I'm thinking of trying over there instead of heading up to Moses Lake if there's a good amount o...

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
Went to potholes and Moses lake yesterday. It was slow at potholes in the morning. 7-8 inches of ice, only heard of people getting one or two bites, didn't see one fish landed while we were there. Went to Moses late in the day after running around Winchester wasteway area and I ended up catching a 2...

Re: Ice Reports 2016-2017
I haven't tried ice fishing but I'm heading out tomorrow too for the first time. Reports say Moses by i90 are slow, I'm going to call mardon and see how they've been doing in lind coulee for perch and walleye. Both should have plenty of ice after the single digits this week. I'm thinking I might hea...

Re: Oyster bay Bremerton
Go to the other side and put in your kayak and fish for salmon in Sinclair inlet, I'm assuming it's open, we don't really fish it anymore since the rest of area 10 is open most years so you'd have to check the regs. Over by the ferry we used to pick up fish there when the rest of Area 10 was closed ...

Re: Anyone try crappie yet in Eastern WA this year?
Nice fish, one of the i82 ponds? Saw a guy fishing it today when I was leaving earlier that looked like he might've been going for crappie but didn't ask how he was doing, I was only able to get one bass there. Then I headed to Yakima and got a larger bass there, couldn't cast into the dang wind the...

Re: Anyone try crappie yet in Eastern WA this year?
Nice I really wasn't expecting much with it being cool still, guess I should've been going out there since last month. That was my first outing for the year, I might try again next weekend. I might have to get a new ultra light rod here, I didn't notice that my rod had snapped until after about 2 ho...

Anyone try crappie yet in Eastern WA this year?
I hit up a pond yesterday and was able to scratch up 2 14" crappie. I thought it was about to turn on for an evening bite since I caught those two one right after the other but that's all that I was able to scrounge up. I was seeing if I could get a couple more since we're having a trip to Potholes ...

Kitsap Lake and Spencer Lake over on the Kitsap Peninsula if you want to travel that way. Both are probably stocked by now, Spencer was our go to for February/March trout fishing for some jumbos.

Re: MA-10 closes AGAIN!?
Wait a minute! I am confused about this whole "encounters" thing. If they closed area 10 because there were too many encounters with young wild black mouth while people were fishing for coho, then why open it for chum? Are you not going to have "encounters" when fishing for chum????? This makes no ...

Re: Need Trolling Advice
I would just stick to an 18" leader from the flasher to a 2 inch pink hootchie. I wouldn't mess with the Brad's for another week or two when the coho start arriving more in the sound. What area are you fishing? When we fished possession bar two weeks ago we were only fishing in 35 feet of water and ...

Re: 1-82 ponds
Went to 4 and 5 last weekend and was catching crappie after crappie on 5, too bad they were all 4-5" fish, bodes well in 2 years though, they'll be some nice ones most likely. Only ones I could muster up from 4 were 4 8-8 1/2" crappie and 2 trout. Did well last evening on a different pond on 9-11" c...

Re: 1-82 ponds
Well that weekend in early march was a bust, I didn't get to move around much though since I was tending to trout poles too. I went out with my dad yesterday though and did well on crappie 10-14 inches since it was too windy to fish potholes in the afternoon so we made the drive to the yakima area. ...
