RE:Life Vs. Fair?
I'm in my twenties and definitely wish i was around to fish when you were in your twenties given the state of the current river closures (lack of fish). Can't be all that bad considering you older folk got to enjoy the golden years of anadromous fishing vs us younger folk. I'm lucky if i can get 1 d...

RE:want to learn fly fishing.
definitely hit a fly shop first. they are much more personal, and don't really push there stuff on you. they will get you what you want. if you have a pretty penny saved up, then get a low to mid level setup, because with fly fishing you will come to realize there are so many other things you may wa...

RE:Where to access Snoqualmie River (below the Falls)?
put in at the blue marker which is pretty much below the falls and you can wade probably a good mile with various pools to fish. right now there are some sea run cutties in there you can target. you can also drive along hatchery road and there are various tight spots you can bushwack into to get to ...

RE:Where to go in Oregon?
I was actually looking at the clackamas as a destination. I've heard they get a pretty good run of summer steelies and it's already started. Was thinking maybe of hitting the clack or possibly even the white salmon for some good white water. And Im definately going to bring my spin gear because my f...

Where to go in Oregon?
Looking to head down to Oregon with a couple of friends to do some fly fishing, and possibly some white water rafting in about 2 weeks. Was wondering if anybody from the state or experience in the state knows of any good rivers I could hit up to do both. I guess I'm leaning towards the deschutes, bu...

RE:herring as bait
never thought to re-use the herring. If its like jerky then it should be able to hold to the hook better. Also, an egg loop sounds like the perfect solution. Anything to keep the bait from falling off. Just one more question. What would you guys consider a fishable size chunk of herring. Maybe about...

herring as bait
I'm pretty new to saltwater fishing, and lately have been targeting bottom fish. I did what a lot of people on other post have said and use herring. Only problem is that when I cut them into small chunks they tend to fall of the hook when I cast. Is there any technique I can use to keep the darn thi...

Yeah, I figured as much. Haven't done much chum fishing though. Maybe I oughta get out there and catch the few decent ones left.

eggs for steelies?
Just started fishing for steelies this year. Of course I haven't caught any yet. I heard that salmon eggs work great for steelies, given that they follow salmon runs and eat their eggs. Is there any way of going about getting live eggs instead of the fake ones they sell at most bait shops or sports ...

RE:winter steelhead season starts the 1st
Im confused... Is the skykomish snoqualmie and snohomish all part of the same river system. I looked it up on google maps and it shows roughly the same area for each of those rivers i type in. I also heard the tolt river was pretty good for winter run steelhead???

RE:winter steelhead season starts the 1st
Never fished steelhead before. Went to O.E. today and asked Richard about gear and techniques to use. I was told nightcrawlers on rivers that aren't known for egg patterns. I bought both eggs and worms. just need to figure out which rivers support these two techniques??

LOL!!! I thought that by saying "when the nets are out" meant they were "out" in the water. I understand now.

Green River bank fishing??
Just wondering where some good spots are on the green to fish from the bank. I would prefer to be able to stand in some shallow water and fish but am willing to fish from a ledge if need be. I've heard the Auburn area was good??
