RE:Is nobody fishing A9???
Spent a couple hours on Wednesday, the 22nd, and Thursday, the 23rd, slinging at PNP. No action on the 22nd. Thursday morning just seconds after stepping into the water a large fish (all I saw was the belly) jumped entirely out of the water about 10-15' away. Caught a shaker that shook the hook a co...

RE:Lake fishing in Kitsat/Pierce
Buck Lake, in North Kitsap, has three spots for shore fishing. One is a swim area that probably isn't too popular now that school is back in session. The swim area is next to a play area - swings, slide, etc. I ship my kids off there if they get bored. There's a boat launch on the north-ish end of t...

RE:Is nobody fishing A9???
Put the kayak in at Eglon around 10:30-11:00. Herring were jumping all over. Hit the rips with just about everything I had including drifting and casting a BuzzBomb. Nada. Probably not the best time of day/tide/etc. But I have to take the opportunity to fish when it's available.

RE:Buck Lake and Island Lake: no luck with bass
Yeah, you could say I'm fishing shallow as I can see the lake bottom out to 30 - 40 feet. My understanding of bass is that they like to be near/under lily pads and the logs that run at various angles from the shore, so I try to cast to those areas or parallel with the reeds at Buck Lake. Someone tol...

Buck Lake and Island Lake: no luck with bass
I've fished Buck Lake for the past three Fridays (after 9am until about noon) using a worm, a Texas rigged 4" and 5" super grub (3/8 oz. weight), and a spinner bait without any strikes. My retrieval is slow with occasional bursts and twitches of the rod. I was at Island Lake this morning (7am to 10a...
