RE:Duwamish river netting

Thank you for the information. I skimmed through the 08-09 fishing agreement and found this: Coho Wk 37 – Wk 44 Closed until Chinook clear or coho predominate. Clearance fishery on lower river (up to 16th Avenue Bridge) begins 9/11; (6 sites); Fishing Pattern: If Chinook clearance is met or coho pre...

RE:Duwamish river netting

Indeed, that is what I was thinking, but I could not find anything online with a definite answer. Does anyone know of a web URL to see the netting schedules of the local tribes?

Duwamish river netting

I heard today from a disgruntled fisherman that the river would be netted non-stop from Sept 13 onward. I can't find a source online to read about the fishing schedule for the duwamish river. Does anyone have any information regarding this event?

RE:pinks are coming

Two friends and I went to Dash Point this morning for a few hours starting around sunrise. Got our spot as the closest to the dock but still down in the water in waders. I got 4 within an hour, and my friends got 2 together in the following hour. Everyone around me was using large buzzbombs, but I w...

RE:Luhr-Jensen Krocodile for Salmon

I used a small sized red kroc for humpies this year with good results. Still havn't caught anything on a dick nite, but then again, i don't have the patience either.

RE:Corn as bait

Yeah, corn works awesomely on Meridian, the lake i frequent for kokanee. I havn't tried much of the berkley gulp corn, but pautzke corn works amazingly well. I usually skip buying worms and just use corn, which i catch both kokes and bows at about the same rate. I just recently bought the blue corn,...

RE:Butterfly jigging

I remember reading about this on Shimano's website, they had a video and all sorts of information. It looks like normal jigging, but they remove the hook from the bottom of a "candlestick" type of jig and add 2 hooks attached to the top with a bit of string. Definately would like to find out if anyo...

RE:Silvers in the River

i havent seen or heard a silver bein caught in the green river yet All the silvers i've caught this year have been in the green river (aside from a few undersized ones in the salt). I'm only catching maybe 2-3 a week, but catching is better then getting skunked everytime. (my buddy has gone with me...

RE:Most Memorable Fish

This year while pink fishing I really wanted to catch a pink on my ultra light. 4lb test, micro lite 5 feet 6 inch pole and micro reel. All my friends said I was stupid and it was impossible. Well the first couple times I got broke off, and was really feeling stupid. Then about 3 weeks ago I finall...

RE:Old Trout Favorite

I just saw 16oz jars of feed eggs at Sportco in Fife, I was just actually wondering what they would be used for, seems like waaaaay too many eggs to use for single egg hook fishing. I was thinking maybe they were for tying your own egg sacks. Now chumming sounds like a much easier purpose.

RE:Most Memorable Fish

Wow, I love these stories. The only story I can remember (alcohol may have been a factor) was fishing for salmon out in Area 10. We tried all sorts of trolling, but couldn't get a bite. Finally we tried jigging, and caught a few dogfish, but finally had a good bite. My buddy fought for a while yelli...

RE:Turning Over???

The lake that i've always seen "turning" is Holme lake in King county, I dont believe it has any streams feeding it. I also took my fishfinder out there last year during the turn and I couldn't find one fish the whole time. Perhaps I need to find search more for this inlet.

RE:Turning Over???

Interesting, because I've been told the same thing about lakes turining and the fish no-longer wanting any action. If the professor Sam has any good info on catching those silly fish during this "phase", I'd love to hear about it.

I've also wondered about night fishing. The only reference to day/night fishing i've seen is nighttime closures on rivers when the salmon are running. I'd like to try the night cat-fishing sometime, but havn't found any info online so far.

RE:Knott tying

I'll agree. The salmon egg-loop knot should work great as the tag-end is not moved at all during the knot tying. Just make sure you have the proper amount of loops through the eye of the hook before tying (i made that mistake a few times in a row tying wedding rings).

RE:corky's and yarn??

I found this good picture of the knot I use, putting the yarn into the Egg Loop knot instead of eggs. The corkie just stays on the line above the hook keeping it buoyant. You can buy them pre-assembled at the fishing store as "cheaters". http://www.piscatorialpursuits.com/resourcecenter/bumperknot.htm

RE:Inflatable fishing boats

I've also had 2 Fish Hunter inflatable boats. One was the 280, perfect size for 1 person with gear and motor/battery. The second one, the Fish Hunter 360, I still have in my trunk. I keep it ready to go so when I get off work, I'm only 15mins from fishing. I've had them for 1 year each, and so far n...

RE:Salmon Fishing Point Defiance area-

I was out there for the durby on saturday. We only caught 1 salmon in that area, but we did see a few other boats hauling in fish. Most of the boats were Mooching with the current when we got there. Our only catch in that area was while trolling flasher with coyote.
