Duck Lake (Ocean Shores)
Heading down to ocean shores thursday-sunday. My friends family rented a house. At first we wernt that excited to go, but then found that Duck Lake is there :D. We are loading up the boat and fishing almost the whole time down there. I was wondering if anyone has any experience fishin that lake. The last report for Bass fishin was back in october. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated,
Thanks you,

Rocky,
Look up a guy who goes by, "Coastfishin" spelled exactly like that. There is another guy who is something like... coastalfishing
Not the same dude. Anywa Coastfishin is a long time resident of the Duck lake area. He recently moved out of state I think, but he fished there constantly until recently. Very nice guy. If you tell him The Quadfather sent you, he will remember me.
Myself I trolled the lake with various Wedding Rings and such, and did fine for trout. There def. is a bass population. The launch is easy in and out.
Have fun.

Yep coastfishin is your guy - Hadn't seen him posting much, didn't know he moved away. Hopefully he visits once in awhile. You also have Failor fairly close and you can hit Sylvia and Vance Pond on your way to or from...
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Duck has some real monsters when it comes to Bass. I have a topo map pinned up on my garage wall with a weed
point marked where we catch 5-6 pound plus bass consistently. Even spent the night on the water several times.
If you want info where this weed point that drops into deeper water is- PM me.
Perfect time of year for this weed point.

Nathan, sounds like spindog has it. Go with that info. I have fished it for several years and have done well or have done poorly. Hit or miss for me. I know the lake was treated for weeds and apparently it's affected the bass fishing. I've done pretty well fishing the main lake with crankbaits in open water in the past or the the canals with the same cranks or jerkbaits. Another area I've done well at is the launch where the soccer fields are. Jigs worked for me there. Good luck
