The benafits of joining a bass club.

Post by fishaholictaz » Wed Apr 16, 2008 8:12 pm

I was thinking of trying to join Capitol City but I don't know if it would be a waste of money or not? Since I don't have a boat what will I get out of it?

You might,....You love bass fishing...what not a better place to meet fellow bass anglers, learn some tips and maybe some hot spots. Sounds cheesy...make new friends with a common interests. Thats why I joined Muskies Inc. and I love it.

Anglers join Bass Clubs for different reasons . However one main benifit is that you will fish more lakes and gain more experience than attempting to explore these lakes by yourself . After the weight in you will start talking to the guys that did well and also the guys the couldnt buy a bass that day . So by comparing notes and quickly picking up whats effective and what doesnt work at all . The next time you fish that same body of water you have more knowlegde about the lake based on what a group of guys discovered and that make things sometimes easier . Also Most club require there the group perform conservation duties which is overall helpful for the state and the lakes here in washington . You may be a non boater now but im sure if you stick around the club you will soon be a boater .. Most club tourneys fees are around $20-30 bucks per tourney , and to me thats a small amount to pay when all things all concidered . Im in bass club my self and it's my second one in my lifetime , i will always promote guys joining clubs in there areas it makes bassin jus that more fun and in some cases the club is the first steping stone to becoming a touring pro some day..SO PAY THAT MEMBERSHIP FEE AND ENJOY ... :-" BBD

I was in a bass club in Louisiana a couple years back and loved it. Personally I would join Capital City but it doesn't work with my schedule right now. Swingshift with weekends. Look for me to join in the next year or two and you could my partner!

Get er done. I'm sure that you will learn more in a few trips with some of the club guys, then you could have learned solo. Just follow good backseater etiquite, offer some money for gas/oil, help load/unload, and clean up after yourself and you will be on the way to more fish.

I love to learn from others that is the only way to truly change.

I know at least three people in that club, 2 of which I went to high school with.

simply put, more heads are better than one. joining a club will teach you to think outside of your comfort zone, as there will be many anglers of all ages, and all skill sets. you will get ideas coming from every which way, not only that, you will be asked questions - quite often than not, you will ask yourself why you didnt think of that.

take what you can and run with it.

o man. even being a back seater or non-boater you will still be fishing. thats all that counts and plus your partner and you could be a team fishing together. you will learn so much and you will have a great time. try it out and see what you think. you shouldn be disappionted.

thanks, Casey

I've just joined and it's fun going to the meetings I am soaking up info like a sponge. Also they mentioned I will learn more in one day of tournament fishing than 10 days of going out on my own. So it's definately a huge learning process. I have my first tournament I'm in the backseat on Washington this weekend!
