Mickelson Results????

Post by WCCT » Sat Oct 18, 2008 6:28 pm

Just wanted to see how everyone did at the tournament. I am still bummed I didn't get to fish it. I hope the W.L. guys that were able to fish it weighed some big bags of smallies.

Missed ya there D.J.
All in all a tough day. Saw some nice fish come in. I believe the winning bag 13lb something. The big fish was a 5+lb Largie. Biggest smallie was upper 4's. I don't know all the stats but I think is was something like only 4-5 boats caught limits. Couple of 4's and a ton of 3's brought in. I landed one 2.1 smallie and Dez and Ryan got 2 for a weight around 3+lbs. Like I said, tough bite.
My fish came out of 40ft of water on a football head hula grub. I did hear that the top bags landed most of their fish on c-rigs and football heads. In 35-40ft.
I'm sure others with chime in with the results but I'm am certainly beat right now.
Great day regardless and another fun outing.
Congrats to the winners. You really put in the work.

Fun day on the water. Fishing was tough but its what seperates the men from the boyz. Blast off was quite hilarious with a boat making its way back to the dock in the middle of the pack taking off. (Motor problems=contest banner inside out for future reference) I am pretty sure no fish were weighed from fishing cranks... not a tactic we used to pick up our fish but i am sure the red hooks and "big swims" were awesome out there
Image

anyways a nice day to be on the water, great weather just a tough bite like every middle of october. They need to look at moving the tournament up or back a little. All in all though, a fun but tough day.
:bom:

just thought i would make a comeback post for this thread. I am back to retirement

Fishing was tough, but that is the norm for this time of year. Where did your team end up Robber?

Who is Veremiah anyways? :spiderman Glad I finally got the opportunity to meet and talk with ya, was long overdue.

First of all robberlite96 I am taking what you typed personal because of the way you nicely put the j@*k off sign at the end of your first quote. Second of all it was our first tourney and we were out there to have fun and do it for the kids and donate. AND FINALLY WE HAD A FUNERAL TO GO TO!!!!!! So if we screwed your plans of how everything was going to go my bad. If anybody takes this personally besides robberlite96 then I am sorry.

How is someones "Motor problems" a hilarious thing 2 you? And why the f%@k would you voice it on an open thread? My contest banner was on correctly {4 future reference},..and catching one bass dosen't seperate the men from the boys,..kinda glad I didn't get to meet certain people but the ones I did meet were awesome,..ChrisB,..if it wasn't for my cousins Funeral we would have stayed till the weigh-in!

I think it is great you guys fished this event. I wish they would bring back the Big Bass Blast tournament they used to throw every year on Washington. It brought a lot of guys out that normally do not fish in tournaments, and I think that is great for the sport. Boat problems suck, but at least you were able to get out there and fish most of the day. Way to stick it out. One more thing. I don't know how you had your contestant banner on, but just in case you were not aware, when you have engine problems, turn your banner inside out. I believe that is what he was trying to say in case you didn't know.

BF-
Whether you take it personal or not is up to you, I was just trying to make a point that you guys needed to be doing something other than throwing cranks or “swims” for this tournament. I think it is cool that you guys headed out for the tournament and gave it your best and like you said, it was for the kids and the donation! I am not taking anything personal so don’t worry about me. I know my fishing abilities and whether anyone else thinks so, I don’t care.

BB-
I don’t think motor problems was hilarious, it was how you missed the blast off with #1 draw and then tried to come back through traffic, if you didn’t know how a blast off took place you should have asked. And like others have said, u turn it inside out to signal a problem so others can help (or avoid you at a blast off). And by the way, we landed 6 BASS in our boat during the tournament, not one… I am sorry about your cousin also and that you had to take off early.

All in all, point made. Going back to retirement but might pull a Brett Farve later down the road…

Jeremiah (fishnislife) and I had a great day on the water, even though we only managed to boat one keeper at 2.09lb and ended up in right in the middle of the field. You couldn't ask for better weather for a mid-October tournament in Seattle. The real kick in the junk came when we got back to the ramp at Atlantic City and found out that my truck had been broken into, my rear window smashed in, and about $300 worth of stuff taken out of the back of my truck, including my fishing vest that I used when fishing from the bank. So the $10 we saved by launching at Atlantic City over Coulon was quickly devoured by my deductible. The tournament was a great experience and I can't wait to do it again, but it sure ended on a sour note.
