Lead restrictions?????

I have been gone, down at Lake Powell. (yes the fishing rocks there) I know we had a vote that I believe has now passed on lead in WA state.........anyone know how it turned out???

It passed on the 4th.............it is the start. A number of lakes are now lead free fishing.........................

And does this lead ban include all lures? Because if you look at the back packaging of pretty much all lures it says blah blah blah lead known to the state of California causes birth defects or something to that effect. Even if the lure contains no lead, for example a spoon which is metal. I will still continue to fish with lures I know contain no lead because if the rule is no lead whatsoever according to the package that would rule out every lure. Doesn't make to much sense.

the rules are something like 1/4 oz or less........ and yes it includes all lures leadheads etc. This was a test shot by the treehuggers...........they got it through.......expect to see it tested everywhere. As anglers there is only one answer and that is to become active..........through clubs or most importantly........as individuals. Every individual can make a difference.........show up to WDFG meetings, sign up for your 2 minutes and be heard. Bashing and whining won't get it done............. If your excuse is "I can't speak in front of people" get over it or...............be sure to not talk about how it should be different. There are a lot of rules and laws on the "books" for review right now.................. seems the smelt are also going to get endangered rating.............could be a problem for a number of rivers and streams..............access could be limited. It is every anglers responsibility in todays environment to stay informed and be heard.

P.S. WDFG acknowledged through their own studies and biologists that the loons problem was NOT lead............. yet it was passed............Why???? The public opinion discussions are in place not to "get new ideas" but gauge opposition to a new law or plan. On this one many more "loon lovers" showed up AND SPOKE...........then anglers.
