Has anyone hit Silver Lake in Pierce County this year? It is one of my favorite lakes and I am heading down on Friday morning to finally fish it this year. I havent seen a whole lot of reports on Bass fishing going around.

Silver Lake is one of those lakes that was really in its prime back in the 70's and 80's, and earlier. As far as bass fishing goes, its decline was the run off of fertilizers from the adjasent farm lands. This caused an explosion of algae, making the water look like split pea soup. Because of that, bass fishing has dramatically declined from its glory days. Infact, my son gave me some brown trout he caught there. We fried them up, and after just a couple bites, threw them away. They tasted just like the lake looked.....Not good. Silver Lake is now a lake I don't even think about bass fishing....Sorry.
