Rivers/Stream Trout Fishing?

Hey~ Trying to find some new spots to hit this year. I fly fish, my husband husband just "regular" fishes! Any thoughts where we might get a compatiable trip? Anywhere within an hour or two of the greater Seattle area would be great, we are located by Black Diamond. We have fished the Green to death with no real success, just little guys...Same for the Middle Snoqualmie, but I would give it another try in maybe a new area......Well, anyways, thanks for the tips in advance!

Well come June when all the rivers open up, there are tons of options. I'd say get your husband a fly rod, and make him fish bugs with you on the North Fork of the Stilly. The summer runs, dollies and searun cutts will keep you both busy. If you're looking for big fish, the Yakima has lots of trout in it, just over the pass. But on the west side you're going to be fishing for sea run fish, not a lot of resident fish over here. Middle Snoqualmie doesn't have a lot of big fish in it because they can't get up past the falls. Again, this summer if you can get him to come over to the fly side, check out the Cedar River. That's a fun one.
There are so many options, Pilchuck Creek, the Carbon, it just depends on what you're feeling like. Your best bet for fish is going to be the Skykomish this summer, lots of places to fish and a lot of fish too.

PM sent and ditto on the June 1st. I've bagged some dandies on the Snoq on gear and fly, be sure to watch the regs as trout need to be pretty good sized if you want to keep'em and selective gear for the Hub....

The Carbon doesn't open until Sept. 1 and it may be hard to fly fish then.

Thanks for the responses. We have been talking about hitting the Yakama this season.....The Cedar, it is always so crowded with swimmers and boaters, not really sure would be a good place to try, I assume up river, but have never hit it before. AS for the Sno, always caught little ones there. I C&R, but hubby wants a nice trout dinner, so need to find someplace that there is actually limit size fish!!! I know, I can't wait for June 1st!!!!!
