EDIT: Puyallup River New INFO!

Post by bionic_one » Wed Aug 04, 2010 6:38 am

RULE CHANGE!!!

Page 42 - Puyallup River (Pierce Co.) from City of Puyallup outfall structure across the river from the junction of Freeman Rd. and N. Levee Rd. to Carbon River.
Error: The pamphlet incorrectly lists ALL SPECIES - Aug. 16-Nov. 30: night closure, anti-snagging rule, and barbless hooks required.
Correction: The rule takes effect on Aug. 1. It should read: ALL SPECIES - Aug. 1- Nov. 30: night closure, anti-snagging rule, and barbless hooks required.

The lower river opens on the 15th. The tribal hotline was updated yesterday, and nets will be in the river for 6 hours on Sunday the 15th.

yeah sure only 6 hours....they were only netting on Mondays on the skok....well nets are still out and will be out 24/7. WDFW knows about it and is "working" on taking action. it's to bad the game wardens can't issue them tickets for it. it has to be handled at the state lvl

yep that was the problem last year as well. This is the reason why they were only going ot net above the 106 bridge on mondays and closed that section to fishermen like us on mondays to help with these problems. but not going to happen if they are netting 24/7

You can still catch fish bionic it just might take a lil while for a legal keeper. Only in the mouth there. It can happen but they are fighting hard and alot of broken leaders. I was fishing 20lb main and 15lb leaders and was breaking a leader here and there.
More fish please!

We were there for a long time today. There were nets everywhere. During two hours below the 106 bridge, we saw two fish. The water in that area isn't deep, and you can see everything. I'm pretty bummed about it.

On the way home we checked Nisqually for about an hour, nothing there either. There weren't even nets out.

The Puyallup still isn't happening yet either, we checked it out too.
