I went I did alright, 2 legal coho, 1 foul hooked so that went back. The chum are defiantly in I caught 4 while I was there, they were taking the color green. Man do they put up a fight compared to one of the little silvers. I cannot believe the others snagging, I read about it and couldn't believe how bad it was until I witnessed it myself. I got some pictures I will post later. I would say the best set up for a non-native I saw was this guy who was using 1oz of lead and 2 barbed tuna hooks. It makes me sick every time I caught a fish the pool of snaggers would make a big deal that it was actually in its mouth..... crazy I know. Pictures later I think I am going back tomorrow.

yeah me and a buddy fished it sat-mon and I got 4 on sat, 0 sun, 3 today. I heard there was netting at rodgers st on sunday so that was probally why it was so slow. Lots of fish...being pulled in back wards and bonked.

post them already.. 99% of them are what you said. i saw people raking them in 4 inches of water and little kids catching (meating) their parents also and guys in there 40's 50's. everyone there knows and dont even care about snagging. i talked to a dozen people and that report from, i think fish-freak23 he was so cocky in his reports i think he was "fronting" about how he called out all the snaggers because he was saying he was all that but i know for a fact he would have had 10 people at least on him but he still had to act tough. bait guy (i could be wrong, maybe redbeard. check the reports for who's in question) that talked stuff about snaggers (everyone snagges at the quilll) they all would have talked back to him, 100% of everyone has bait kinves and buck knives so why be rude to anyone and also most people carry metal with ccp. i think he was just being big headed because i wouldnt confront anyone unless confronted, but everyone is very friendly there so why be rude man?? redbeard was reporting about talking trash also but oh well just dont do it to the wrong person (not me). so if that guy that says he talks trash to whoever that snaggs, well thats 100%. just dont get too into being snagging police and just fish man. fish-freak23 SMH chill man because if you confronted the wrong people i know you would get your mouth shut nomatter how tough you think you are.. chill dude and mind your own.

yeah it was a whole different world out there, the funniest part was when this goof ball was there with his family and they called someone he flat out said "yeah are out SNAGGING few salmon. I SNAGGED two and my brother is at 7" I wish the rangers would throw on some waiters and just make an appearance

For wake trolling in a boat the 50/50 brass silver kick butt. I put a DN on the back of a dodger. drop it down about 10 foot depth at the most and troll it in the wake of the boat. Silvers hit it hard. Blues and greens for kings. %0/50 or all chrome/brass for silvers,Gree for chums . In the rivers I have spinners an older gent made for years. They were made for the Willapa and the Satsop. They will work in all rivers. All made with single hooks. I have loads of them. Spinners are so much fun especially when they slam them.
Knives Guns???? Wtf is going on here. Do y'all live in fear that much that you need to pack heaters or blades. If that is what fishing is to you all Im glad I dont fish with yall. To me its totally stupid to pack heat. Its only gonna get you in trouble. Are you gonna shoot a snagger? you cant carry all that ammo. LOL. another reason to bring a gun is in case of animals like bears and cougars, quilcene probally has both as well as coyotes and killer dogs. I have seen cougar when fishing the upper cascade and we go bear hunting near quilcene.
If you were fishing from the shore in the salt water like agate pass or sinclaire/dyes inlet, how woul you fish a dick nite, like would you twitch it or cast and retrieve?

hey has anyone on here tried spinners this year on the quil with any success, my go to spinners are not working for some reason so I think the fish are wanting a different color than pink.

in the bay i've had luck with size 3 blue fox in pink with silver blade, orange with gold blade, blue with silver blade and all black. hope that helps.
