Summer steelhead 2014

Post by primetime » Sun Jun 01, 2014 3:38 pm

I figured we could start a thread for summer steelhead. I started my season off with two decent sized bucks! Hope to see more photos posted here after today.

I'm going tomorrow to reiter. Should die down a little being Monday. My dad was up there today. He's caught one metal head in his life before today. He caught 5. Kept his two hatch fish and landed a 12lb Nate which was released safe.

I thought that's what the "reports" section was for?

Yes and no. This is dedicated to just summer steel. You can post up just pics. You don't have to say what river tactics you used. It's just the same as the winter steelhead thread we do. It's always fun to see some fish porn.

Anglers are encouraged to post fishing reports using the fishing report form because they then become a permanent part of the site's database and you'll always be able to look up your reports. I have reports dating back 17 years. It's a cool way to keep track of your fishing trips over your lifetime. That said, the forums are OK to use as well, just understand they aren't as easy to look up as time goes by and they don't go into the database for the site. It's that database that allows Aaron to make the cool web tools that our members have access to.

Whatever works best for your needs. Now, back to summer steel. [thumbsup]

Usually people start a thread each season to post pictures of whatever species the thread is referencing. I think the intent of this thread was different from a standard report. I was under the impression it was to be an ongoing thread to post pictures of summer steel as the season goes on. I could be wrong...

C&R'd this wild buck this morning. Got a couple pics and it measured in at just over 36 inches, didn't get the girth but it was pretty thick. Thinking it's around 15 or 16IBS

Trying to post a pic but it is way to big. Can anyone help a computer/ smartphone illiterate fisherman resize a photo? Any tips would be appreciated
