Hey just wondering how the action is at the Nisqually? Thinking about leaving early morning tomorrow for a trip, but wanna avoid wasting gas if it's dead you know.

Fishing is about getting out there and covering water. You cant catch em behind a computer monitor.

I love to fish the Nisq. but I usually don't see a lot of action there until later in July.

Did you see anything or hear of anyone catching anything?

Been kinda slow. Only saw a few snagged, but I didn't stay there long either. It's been a few weeks, but I may try again beginning of August.

Pay close attention to the river closures due to tribal netting this year! There are many, many days in Aug. and into Sept. when the entire river is closed to all non-tribal fishing. This is a change from last year when it was just a boat restriction.

I noticed this also. it sucks but I knew it was coming. I used to catch fish just fine when they were netting and never had any problems with them.... I lost one fish once when he swam right into the net though....had to cut my line [cursing]

Good question. Just looking at the WDFW marine area map for Area 13, it looks like Area 13 starts where the shore ends.
