Jig Color

Post by jdimonda » Mon May 21, 2007 9:59 pm

What color Steelhead jigs should I get? At three rivers marine they are selling aerojigs for 50 cents each and I am going to get a ton. So what colors should I get?

Pretty much get an assortment of all different colors as you won't always know exactly what condition/color the river will be. But classically pinks, whites, orange, peach, red, black, purple. Typically you will want to use the darker colors like the black and purple when the river is low and clear such as at reiter ponds in august. And the brighter colors are more of a average winter flow lure. I'm not saying that those colors won't work in the opposite season, they just seem to work better as mentioned.
