That fish is against my body. Not out and away like the ones your use to taken jens. lol It weighed 12.5 clean It had eggs and all the guts so Im guessing around 14 Coulda even went a lil more. Dont worry Jens Ive not lied to you about fish I catch and all of them get weighed so Im not doing a kinghunter guess. 10lb kings being 18lbers and 15lbers being over 20 lol
More fish please!

The best is when people know the weight of a fish they lost.

pooh is a big guy, i trust that the fish was that big. with that length is looks like with some guts in it it would have had more girth to it. :thumleft:

He ain't that big, as is his fish. :-" :-"

My fish in my avatar measured 35 inches in length and was 17 and 3/4 in girth a little over 14lbs and it was a buck and was caught in June this year on the Notellum. :-$

Not to be a debbie downer pooh, I just think you have been fishing with Kinghunter too much. Maybe that's why your scale is off??

A debbie downer? A hen full of eggs that weighed 12.5 pounds cleaned up no guts no eggs no gills will weight 14 easy Jensen. Im not sure why your continuing about my weights. HAVE I LIED TO YOU ABOUT MY FISH? My name is not Ernie nor is it Joel. Nate Jensen is right Im only 5'9" and 245lbs. So Im not that big. But Im not that lil either. Here Jensen let me do it your way 5'9" length girth around chest 47 1/2" girth around waist 38" do the math. Oh now lets figure in muscle density compared to fat but then we gotta figure my belly does have fat man that math is gonna be messed up. The fish is in my freezer minus the guts and head. come on by and we can dig out the head and measure it for ya.
More fish please!

Not yellin just raising voice a tad to get a point across. Ill do a better one for ya Jensen so its not an issue in the future. Ill buy a digi scale and keep it with me. Ill put the fish on the scale and take a pic of the fish and the scale. I know we arent always fishing together. I want to make sure you feel comfortable and secure about it lol. Youre always asking me to hold ya so I know you like comfort.

Damn Ernie and Joel, LiARS. They started this whole mess. Sorry we doubted you Jim. We know your a true fisherman. No need to prove otherwise. I didn't realize you were that big Jim, Jens is a midget and I'm a dwarf.

I know youve had an injury prone slow year scott. But some of the places your fishing is absolutely beautiful. If I didnt have asthama as bad as I do Id join ya on some of them hike in adventures ya do. I fear having an attack and not being able to get back to the vehicle fast enough.

I've caught hens upwards of 19 pounds, but in pictures they look like 30 pounders on account of I'm not that big. Not saying that you're gigantic pooh, but that I believe you when you say that fish ran 14 pounds. Steelies look small compared to salmon on account of they're long and slender, and I buy the relationship of fish length to weight based upon the facct that its head sticks out a couple inches from your shoulder to well beyond the bottom of your left hip, diagonally across the body like that makes it a good size estimate for me. especially since it was 12 gutted, those guts weigh a lot. The same fish in a picture with me would look at least its size on account of I'm a tiny guy, 5'6 135 pounds. I don't know why people hassle folks about it, there's no reason to lie about the size of fish by 2 or three pounds. If I were going to make up a weight for a fish, I'd photo it at arms length with a wide angle lens so it'd look about 20 pounds larger and then I'd say it was a 25 pounder. [thumbsup]

LOL me and jens fish with each other alot and hes just giving me crap its ok. I even invited him fishing after these postings. I think hes just mad cause I got steel first this winter and hes not gotten one for awhile. He loves catching steel. Im gunning for more then him this year. And I wont use a bobber and jig to do it.

Hahaha, alright. Yea, I'm not a fan of bobber fish either, and a lotta guys up north it's the only way they fish! About the only place I'll do it now is on the Sky at the hatchery, those boulders suck drift gear up like a hoover. 90% of everything I catch is on a corky. No yarn, just a corky. I've not been fishing for winter steel for more than three or four outings in poor water conditions and I've caught three fish, so it's looking to be a promising winter. I'm jealous that you're down south and closer to the Columbia tribs than I, I can't get out that much on water that I really know. Steel is where it's at for me, light tackle and the best eating you can ask for.

Nate even at reiter I still drift, no bobber and jig. Try lighter weight. I was barely using like 1/8 once or so there I think. Not alot of snagging at all.

Alright! It's a lot more fun to drift fish anyways, I'll give it a shot. I caught a couple chums on the sky yesterday that weren't all zombied out, which was weird, but I was drift fishing below reiter. I have two poles, I guess I better use my other one more often.

That is how I got my two hook ups on the bogie. As soon as I went lighter I hooked up with the one I lost at my feet. Just enough to barely tap tyhe bottom and not drag on the bottom

LOL yeah, I am salty about not getting 1 this winter it's just a matter of time. But you drifters(flossers) no offense, I know what I know and seen what I seen. You guys won't catch as many as guys who use hardware, that's a promise and a guarantee. We never have to worry if our fish are foul hooked. Do the math. =d> =d>

I take pride in fishing for Steelhead, so I apologize if my passion for them comes off as negative towards you drifters. I have seen way too many foul hooked Steelies this year and it's not right. Didn't you say you were like 2/14 or something redonkulous last week pooh? Things that make you go hmmmm. #-o #-o
