Northwest Fishing Reports

Hey guys, so with salmon fishing just around the corner, I was wondering what access points on the Stillaguamish near Silvana that are available for the public. I'm not afraid to walk through some this brush or even a long walk, but what I am afraid of is a pissed off farmer. Also I'm not 100% sure on the rules as far as parking on the street or walking through part of a field and if that is legal or not. If someone could clear that up, it would be great. Thanks.

Best thing i do is throw on the river shoes and the shorts and acsess the river at one of the bridges and go for a walk! There is the bridge by the tavern and the one at the farm.

If you want to fish by the freeway bridge area there is an access road you can drive on right up to the river. The natives set their nets up there but they are cool for the most part. I've never had a problem with them. This road is for a county park and baseball diamond. The way I go in is right next to the firestation off I5. If you want to fish someones property then ask first.There is alot of corn comming up now and farmers water and fertilize the fields. Id not want to walk through a field of corn while the sprayers are going. Best bet is to fish open fishing spots. There are lots of them.

there is a park by I5 and anywhere there is not a sign or fence close to the road is a go i'm sure. i could be wrong.

its illegal to trespass on peoples property with out permission..
sure you park anywhere there is a good pull out.. just go find the people and you'll find the fishing spots and go from there.

Alright thanks, any suggestions on what has worked well in the past for pinks and cohos?

If you drive down Pioneer HWY and go past the town you'll come to a bridge, you can fish there or go past it and drive down Norman rd.... it follows the river and you can find some places to get in to or if you drive down you will see a farm on your right and a feild on the left.... That farmer lets you access the river via his driveway as long as you stay on the driveway..... you wont miss it due to tons of cars parked along the road and next to his driveway.....

I use 50/50 dicknites and they seem to work pretty good and if a stray silver should come by, they are not shy...... small pink jigs, remember , this is a selective gear fishery so no bait,no scent and barbless hooks......

There is a really good access on the main stem off Norman Road. I like that one. Also up higher off Dike Rd there is a ton of access. Haller Park in Arlington can be really good for SIlvers, also, and is the end of the road for fishing. The bridge next to the Tav in Silvana is actually not the main stem Stilly. It bifurcates just downstream from there, and the majority of the fish run in the norther portion of the channel, although the corner hole there through the field can be good for pinks and silvers some years.

My top 3 spots would be Norman Rd, Dike Rd, and Haller Park in Arlington.

There is also access off Pioneer Hwy, there is a bridge and you can fish on the upstream and downstream sides both. From the mouth to Arlington there is actually quite a bit of access on that river, and usually plenty of fish.

Mostly fish Dick Nites, Corkys, and Small vibrax (listed in order of productivity) for pinks squid jigs kill em' too, but I prefer using DN's which seem to catch just as many or more fish, and they also catch silvers so you are covering all bases.

Yeah , I guess a lot of people dont know that the water they see by the tavern in Silvana isnt the main stem stilly.... It used to be 4 years ago but they have bypassed that now

what do you guys use at haller park dick nites?

I like dick nites or pink and white jigs...... I will throw corky and yarn also if silvers are in....
