ok so i'm looking for a change from the Snoho, which i've been on for a couple weeks now. now that i have waders and some more experience i'd like to hit some holes on the sky or even the wallace on friday or saturday. will be bank fishing and coming from seattle. might be a last hurrah for this fall season for me. anyone want to join me?

Wallace is fairly slow right now, bite turns on and off very quick. Ive been out there all week. I have seen some fish caught though.

Caught 6 or 7 this morning on the Wallace, so there are definitely fish in there. But you may have to move around and try different spots, and the bite was definitely on a on/off switch today.

Honestly don't waste your time on the wallace just go to the sky. I use to love the wallace but now its full of people especially on the weekends. Weekdays i guess are not too bad but i still wouldn't waste my time there cause if there is fish there they are most likely dark. Also there are too many people fishing illegally, trying to snag fish and it puts the fish off the bite real quick.

More and more people every year. Thats too bad about snaggers moving in. Ive never had that problem there. I would stick to the sky anyway just because we still havent had a big push of water. With low flows 8t bet they aint biting too well on the wallace except at first light. And probably alot of fire trucks

We are suppose to get some rain in the next couple days but i don't think it will blow out the sky so definately sky would be my number one choice. Also i'm surprised you haven't had any problems with snaggers on the wallace spoonman casue they are there every single time i am at the wallace

Wallace gets bad with snaggers near the hatchery.... Sad to see a great river get littered and poached

I do tend to cover alot of water to find unpressuerd fish. I guess most people who are too lazy to actually fish and just snag are too lazy to walk too far

I too do a lot of walking and find people snagging almost every outting i go on to the wallace. Not unless i go to the lower wallace and you have to do some serious hiking in the river to get to the holes then i just don't see anyone. If you fish from the hatchery to the hwy 2 bridge there are snaggers in that stretch for sure

I have actually only fished the wallace once this year. Been hitting the snoho and theskyhard in the drift boat. A big rain event might get me up there though

i just wanna snag another fish in the mouth. i paid my karma monday by letting that coho go that i misidentified. here fishy fishy. i'd be willing to hit the snoho but bank fishing is pretty hard in many places if you havent paid the private property entry fee.

Jesus people...if you witness snagging then REPORT IT. Have any of you ever said something to these individuals who you witness poaching ever time you fish a particular river? If you don't report it then the chances of authorities catching it are slim and nothing will ever change.

Yes, I have been guilty of not making the call...once this fall when I was so disgusted with what I saw on the Sky at the Cracker bar I was going to call but found that I didn’t have my cell phone on me...lame
.. I have and do politely as I can mention to the snaggers I see that it’s not legal to fish that way and/or keep the fish that they have snagged.

WDFW knows where the snagging is going on if they chose to enforce it.
Last game warden I saw was 3 weeks ago in the parking lot at American Lake checking parking passes. Why? Cause it's an easy ticket. You've got people snagging/not punching salmon in most rivers in Puget Sound, you've got hunters all over the hills and they're checking parking passes at American Lake? Which isn't really close to a whole lot. Frustrating to say the least.

The last WDFW officer I saw was last April in E WA, The last one I saw on this side I think was September 2012 on the Wallace.......

Yep saw the same thing a couple weeks ago at American. A state biologist interviewing people as they came off of the water and the warden checking for parking passes. Found that curious myself, in the middle of salmon season, instead of interviewing salmon anglers (especially on systems with wild retention allowed to understand the pressure these fish face better) she was busy interviewing anglers catching stocked kokanee and perch.....two highly threatened species.....
They were both nice people at least...

I saw one about a month ago on the wallace and he gave a guy a ticket for pushing a almost dead pink with his foot.

Yes actually i do do something about it. Instead of calling it in i text wdfw's number they have so i can be more incognito and not spook the snaggers. The last gamie i saw was at the wallace and he drove back in to the hatchery and i walked back and i looked for him to let him know about some guys and he just plain ol disappeared no clue where he went.

i've seen a warden at the spokane street snag n grab bridge a number of times before i got tired of that place. he carded me once then ignored me the other times to focus on the "ethnic" anglers. i just laughed at the obvious bias regardless of the fact he seemed like a nice guy.
