Baby Tiger Muskies Planted In Lake Tapps and Evergreen, too!

Post by KUP » Thu May 05, 2011 2:24 am

Well, its that time of year and all muskie supporters are helping out around the State.
For the 4th year, tigers anglers have stepped up and donated their time to volunteer.
Chapter #57, CMA and I am sure CH #60 in Spokane will help when it comes their opportunity.
We are ALL good at helping WDFW. Kudos to us all.
Special Thanks to Bill and Rosann,CH.57, for stepping up and driving up to Evergreen to help, too. And to Derek, who is driving up to his favorite lake :salut: (Take your camera!)
Two members from CMA and 6 from Muskies, Inc. Chapter 57 helped to stock Lake Tapps this week, too.
Tigers are so magnificent when they are big and taking off like torpedoes, but they are quite striking when they are little, too, eh?
So cute and so much fun. It really is a highlight of the year and we are grateful to WDFW and Bruce Bolding for giving us an opportunity to volunteer.
Thanks Mike E. for driving your purdy new truck over the pass, too. She's a beaut!

Tiger Muskies are sterile.
You can't keep them under 50 inches:

Alright, I'm going to try to post a pic from Evergreen. Haven't posted one in a long time so hope it works. We had great fun helping Kyle, from the Ringold hatchery, get the water temp. adjusted in the tank while we waited for Marc and Mike, from the Ephrata office, to show up with the WDFW boat. Then we got to go out on the boat with them after transfering the babies from the tank truck to the tank on the boat. I got to put Tiger Muskie babies in the water all over Evergreen Reservior and we got done just as the rain and wind really started kicking up.

Bill and I wouldn't know since we figure once they get to be legal size (50 inches) that they would have too much mercury and other bad things in them.:-({|= They are pretty much the top of the food chain.
