Greetings from visiting mid-west MI member

Post by eheyob » Sat May 05, 2012 8:41 am

Hello fellow MI members, I hope you all have a good time at your tournament today. I am a frequent visitor to your part of the country as my in-laws live in Renton, my wife visits two times per year and I tag along about every other year. I am a retired fisheries biologist/hatchery administrator from the State of Ohio and have raised, managed and fished for muskies for over 30 years now. I tried to hook up with one of your past presidents I believe several years ago when I was in town but like this weekend he had a tournament to fish. I was close to coming down today to hook up for burgers with you guys to get a little muskie fix but it looks like we are heading for Pike Place market instead and I will have to settle for chowder. We are heading your way tomorrow and going to Cabela's, Mt. St Helens, Portland, Columbia River gorge, etc. If anyone with spare tackle needs a partner mid to late week I'm good for gas money, dinner etc. to get me out fishing for ski's. I can be pretty handy with a landing net and have about 500 entries in MI to go along with the guest fish I have landed. I'm also familar with muskie fishing and have had my fair share of beautiful fishing days with no catching, Take care and tight lines,

Elmer Heyob

Elmer,
If you were coming to the east side, I would take you out. But seeing you are on the west side, I am sure one of 57's members would be able to get you out there. We have some fantastic fishing here in Washington. If you happen to venture to this side, let me know. I will get you out.

Doug

Thanks Doug, I just did a little math and was shocked to realize it has now been 30 years ago some friends and I drove over to Banks Lake and fished for walleye. I guess I just can't get the mid-west out of my system. I'll see what transpires from this email posting traveling east isn't entirely out of the realm of possibilities

Hi Elmer:
We always do our best to get fellow Muskies, Inc. members on the water. Sorry you could not make it to the Tournament. It was a big turn out and I think they had one back seat open.
Our Prez. is good about checking this Forum and I know he will be posting a report about Mayfield, later tomorrow.
He will know who might be avaiable.
Welcome to Tiger Muskie water, Elmer.

Hi Doug, What are the possibilties for muskie fishing with you in the East? I guess everyone over here has a job. We fly out Saturday morning so the weekend is out. Just out of curiosity, which lake in the State has the hottest bite right now in your opinion?

Elmer, I wouldn't say any of them are hot yet. I will be on Silver Lake on Thursday afternoon if you would be able to swing it. Saturday we have a tournament on Silver. Too bad you can't stay over, because we do have a member with an open seat. If you are interested and can make it over give me a call. 509 263 7 2 3 5. Sorry for the breaks, keep the bots annoyed. 8-[
