Went trolling for trout yesterday after all the storms. Talk about fall turn over, most of the weeds are floating on top of the water now. I checked out 2 lakes in the Arlington area. No bites early on the first lake, all 4 bites came around 5-6. Only hooked one 17"
trout. Most of the fish in the top 10 ft of water now. Fish very picky now, and hanging in deep water. Should start getting very good now8-[

Now is the time to start fishing with bigger baits as the trout are starting to fatten up for the winter. I like to fish mostly with artificials but this time of year there is not much better than a nice fat crawler in my opinion. Find the depth, find the fish.

I think I saw you guys out that day, I was in the red Mad River canoe at the first lake and you each had your own kayak and boat. What a gorgeous day....it also didn't help that the moon was in the wrong phase so the fish did most of their feeding during the night. It was pretty slow that day, but in the previous weeks, I've done quite well at a few of the holes I frequent....I just got tired of the rivers either sucking or being blown out from rain.
