Don't know about trips but I've caught some large bows there. One just shy of 5#

I don't fish Goodwin too often but this time of year I start getting the fever so I go there as it's fairly close to home and open year round. I have always caught healthy rainbow there. I last fished Goodwin on 02-02-09 and caught a very nice 14.5 inch RB. (pics attached from my last trip there).

RE:lake goodwin
Looks like its time to get the boat out and head over and try it out. Any ideas where to fish, how and what to use?
RE:lake goodwin
I always fish directly out from the launch, in the middle. I am told there is an underwater channel and my finder tells me there are lots of fish holding there every time I make the trip. Because the water is still cold and the trout are lethargic, I would recommend chumming. Find a spot where the fish are showing up on your finder, gently set an anchor, and put out some chum directly over the side where you will drop your presentation. Then put a worm over the side to the bottom, bringing it up the length of the leader (leader lenght 24 inches) so your worm is right off the bottom. This is the method I use at Goodwin this time of year and always seem to catch fish. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Any signs yet at the state park on who is going to take it over? For those who dont know, the park is on the list for state parks to be closed.
RE:lake goodwin
Didn't know that. Curious to know if the launch access will remain open if the park closes.

RE:lake goodwin
Guys don't over think this one#-o
Prime property ?
Oh we need to cut back next thing you will see is 100 new Custom Track homes:cyclopsan :cyclops: on her and based on what funds$$$
This is another example of working for you about you! LOL
Watch how this one progesses= just say Property Management control and don't bank on a Boat ramp as well.
How many years has this Great Park been and used by thousands?
Many of the folks who live on her dont even like the park and
this would take 60 percent plus or more of the traffic off the lake as well in the spring and summer months.
Hope this one is axed before it moves forward

My guess is, if the State Park closes, they might feel obligated to provide a launch and might put one at the public park located on the north end of the lake. Just a guess.
