Just thought I'd let everyone who was curious know that the Shannon Creek launch was great. It dropped off perfectly and made launching my Hewes easy. Plus it close to the fishin hole. Report posted.

Matt,

That's very kind of you to put out an invite. I'd go with you in a minute but unfortunately my time off from work to recover from minor surgery ends (tomorrow) Sunday and I return to work Monday, otherwise I would go with you. I think the barometer was off on Thursday as the weather was changing which in my opinion affected the bite however Wednesday was great yielding limits for all 3 of us on my boat by 10:30 am. I hope you knock em dead and look forward to reading your report if you go.

Here are some pics of the Baker Lake Sockeye I smoked up over the last two days. Good Eats!

Is it still open? I can not find any information regarding sockey salmon fishing in that lake. Pamphlet is saying that it is open year round for landlocked salmon. What kind of rules applying (hook, fish size) to sockey salmon in Baker lake?

The info for the sockeye fishery is NOT listed in the rule booklet. This year is the first year they have opened he lake for sockeye. There are no abnormal gear restrictions in place for this fishery. The fishery will remain open until posted by the WDFW that it has closed.

Hope this helps.

Dave, you should have broken one of them open for a pic so we could see the beautiful rich red color :)

They come out quite impressive in color on the BBQ, I imagine even moreso in the smokehouse.

I agree with Dave about Shannon Creek... I launched there yesterday and it was much better than Horseshoe Cove further down lake... if you can put up with the bummmmmmpppppyyyyy road up there!

I'll post a report after I get the pics out of the camera... I got 2 in about 45 minutes of fishing...

Tom are you running a beige Arima? If so, saw you and your family at the Cascade Drive-in in Concrete Sunday afternoon. We overheard mention of two back to back fish and I guess that I should have said hi.
