Hey fellow NWLakers,
Me and a friend are heading out to lake Roesiger tomorrow morning to try our hands at winter trout and\or perch. Though we are excited and ready to go fishing our game plan needs some help. Heres what we are planning on doing:
Trout:
Troll pop gear and a wedding ring tipped with a worm on one rod and a orange green tiger pattern needlefish tipped with worm on the second rod. start at around 10ft below the surface and work our way down till we get a bite. With the troll 70-75 feet off of the downrigger. If we are successful we will keep doing this.
Perch:
If we fail at trout fishing we will probably switch to fishing off the bottom for perch using a double hook rig. starting at the weed line and working our way into deeper water if necessary.
So this is my plan for tomorrow morning I would love any tips or advice on places to troll maybe near the inlet and/or outlet? How about a place to go to on Roesiger for winter time perch? Or is there a different way that's more successful to fish this fishery in the winter? If you have any comments questions or ideas to help me on my way I would love to hear them!
Happy Fishing!

Re: Lake Roesiger Trout\Perch
Word of caution on tipping lures.. I've never had much luck with it cause it seems to foul the action of the lure due to added weight/surface or whatever the reason but i always use some sort of scent on my lures such as shrimp or anise gel.. And as far as the perch pretty much everywhere i fish perch in the winter you will find them right on the bottom so do not hesitate to fish deeper water if you dont get action close to shore.. Best of luck
