Lake Roosevelt

Post by Lunker16 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 10:39 am

Heading over with my 12yr old for our annual visit. Can anyone tell me if the water clarity has cleaned up in the lower end? Any info would be appreciated. Not looking for anyones secret spot. -Thanks

Water is getting lower and dirtier day by day. We fished it last Sunday and you couldn't see over about 8 inches into the water. Be sure to check water elevation for the ramp you want to use, a lot of the ramps can't be used right now.

Thank you, doesn't sound too promising. Maybe up above the Spokane Arm is cleaner. Guess we'll find out.

Water was pretty murky. No sure about Spring Canyon but the launch at Keller was useable. Too windy, white caps, so we ended up just going to our property North of Hunters. Water is clearer up there but the wind wouldn't let up.

Will be at Seven Bays tomorrow but not on the water. Will provide a water clarity report when I get back.

Only usable launches as of this morning: Spring Canyon, Keller Ferry, Seven Bays, and Hunters. Projection is reservoir level will be drawn down to 1222.7' by April 30th at which point those launches will be closed possibly even Spring Canyon.

Couple good sites:

https://www.usbr.gov/pn/grandcoulee/lakelevel/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Last one explains how and why levels are adjusted. [wink]
