Something that might be worth trying on Rufus Woods

Post by No_Bad_Skunks » Fri Nov 14, 2008 7:54 am

Some whiles back, a member here posted a report on Rufus Woods, in which he described knocking 'em dead with what he called a, 'pellet fly'.

And then the other day, I spotted this thread on the Ifish.net message board. Looks like something that might work quite well on Rufus ( Or Beaver Lake )

My trip last spring was a good one. One at about 5# and the rest over 8. I've used the PB hatchery formula, it works. It's in pellet form. I've also used a fly made from a little puff from the fabric store died brown and trimmed to shape and then there's the black jig and the black flies. They all work. The best has been a big hook to keep the little guys off and a corky and a dab of PB Gulp, you guess the color. o:)

PS I don't need to here any sniviling about fishing with bait at Rufus. Get over it.

no sniveling, but that's definately fishing with bait. I wouldn't want to drive all that way and catch my limit in the first five minutes and be done. And being that this is becoming a very popular fishery, I'm willing to bet WDFW will be monitoring it from time to time. Fair warning...
