Whitefish,anyone been out?

Post by kevinb » Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:16 am

If play time allows it,I will be heading up to the Greenwater and upper White river(s) later this week/weekend.
Has anyone had much luck with whitefish this season in that area or anywhere else in Wa?
2nd,does anyone fish for them or am I the only big dummy thats trying for them?:-$
Just curious,I don't typically hear much chatter about whitefish

I think the limit is 10 in the Snohomish/Sky system, and they start showing up right around this time of year. They can be fun to catch on light gear. I don't know much about fishing for them but have heard they are pretty delicious.

Small weighted nymph and scud imitations drifted just over the bottom will usually get their attention too.

Dec. 1 is the first day to fish for them on the Naches/Yakima, with Whitefish gear rules.( Limit is 15).

I've caught 'em in the snoho system, the Sultan has a lot of 'em and it's pretty fun. I cast a spinner with trout gear and it's hard to miss. I like the sultan, it's fun and you can hook some winter steel while you're at it.
